  1. Cooked. discovered it works well when u used old snags to burley the water. my drunk mate put snag on his hook thinking it was bait... well he started catching and I didn't. needless to say I made the switch
  2. This is going to sound odd, but I've found left over bbq meat (preferably snags) to be the best bait when fishing for carp.
  3. Head to port mac. Chat to one of the charter operators there and im sure they'll have some customers willing to donate tuna heads and frames
  4. Absolutely awesome and great to see every effort to return the fish as healty as possible. What rod was he using, could see it bending at the butt of it! Reckon it was a bees dick between triumph and absolute heart ache
  5. Yeah my supplier has assured me they are getting them mid this month. Cant find the 10000 anywhere at the moment, but not keen om going any bigger as they are quite bulky and heavy.
  6. Anyone got any opinions on the new saragosa. Have been told the internals are basically the old stella. Looking at getting the 10000 to chase sampsons and k8ngies on a charter in may. Matching it to a daiwa monster mesh.
  7. just wondering if anyone has tried or used the mop mullet lure with any success? Bought one cheap as it looks like it might do the job
  8. Cheers mate. I'm going to have to follow you to your spot with YFW like that. Trev is a gun and I reckon i've spent thousands in that store! The mrs is yet to find out :silly:
  9. I run 10lb braid whem flicking lures at the lake and had plenty of problems with wind knots and line twist.Run a small swivel with about 1m of flurocarbon (or other line) to your jig. Can almost guarantee you wont have any more problems
  10. Cheers fellas. More after info on right lures and right techniques. Current two I am working at the moment are a weightless atomic Plazo 6inch jerk minnow in grey ghost and A rapala maxrap in green colour. Once again I want to make sure im doing the right retrieval techniques
  11. Berley & balloons, They'll come to you. Last I heard there were bronzies in nearly plague proportions out of whyalla. Rellies of mine were hooking up to 2-3 each time they went out but that was about 6-8 months ago
  12. In the lead up to summer I am (still) desperate to catch a west lake mulloway,(lochness), but after spending countless hours (250+) with both live baits and lure I still come up trumps. I had plenty of help from people on this site with times, locations and what not. You guys know who you are and I thankyou all!I'm confident I know decent spots in the lake, best times and phases. I'm after help with lures. I've used a wide range including soft plastics and hard bodies, weighted, unweighted, suspending and floating. I am limited as I dont have a yak and all my casting is from the shoreline.I've
  13. portion them up in a snap lock bag or preferably a vac seal bag as they'll last that much longer!
  14. Thought about hooking a release solenoid rc chopper?
  15. Anyone fished through the pilbara and kimberlys area? Mainly the systems near the gibb river road?
  16. Eagle rays. Pretty amazing and exciting watching them go side to side and launching out of the water a few feet. But salmon on light gear is also fun! Actully I like catching them all
  17. Haven't been in a few months but give the servo a call, he'll tell you what they're catching, track conditions and seaweed levels. Just make sure you put some fuel in/ buy something to help the local business when you are down there
  18. Plenty of bream schooling in groups of 5-6 ot really interester in the lures though
  19. Quick flick around the lake for something bigger. This greedy bastard swallowed a whole 110mm flick bait. Didnt measure but would be about 36/37cm and fat. Caught another a bit smaller allnin about 10mins. Not what I was flicking lures for but fun none the less.CheersJB
  20. Someone said something about artificial turf??? At Adelaide Uni Hockey club (west beach) they replaced their artificial turf and in the carpark sits, literally tonnes of artificial turf from the removed pitch. Just roll down there and grab some, pretty sure its just waiting to be dumped/taken. If need be I can ask just to make sure. I'll see if I can take a photo tomorrow.
  21. Don't have a boat but I'd say carpet. Use contact adhesive (like quick grip) onto marine ply then stainless screws to hold thw whole lot into position. If you design it nicely you can have storage spots via lift out panels etc. Will last for quite a while and when replacement time comes just unscrew the panels and it all comes out.
