Steve Cooper is a fishing reporter for the Herold Newspaper in Melbourne. A customer sent us a page from last Sundays (9th January) paper which was a full page feature on Wallaroo and Snapper fishing with Jim Harris. These features in interstate newspapers are great for tourism for this area. The Vics love big fish and will travel over here and spend their money to get them.I have tried to find a link to the report on the net but i was unsuccessful. Sea Rescue is funded by some of the money from our Emergency Services Levy.They are always looking for more money and more personel to give some of their spare time.

Your best bet would be to take it back to where you purchased the reel from and they should look after you.Make sure you have your Australian proof of purchase (receipt) as Penn will no longer supply any spare parts or warranty if the reel was purchased overseas.

Why would you want to purchase from Mo Tackle or Ocean Online when you can get the same deals in the local tackle stores and not have to pay postage?If you shop around you will find some of their prices are higher than you will pay local. From a business point of view I can tell you these guys from over the border that are here to fish the snapper opening boost the economy of a small country town. They don't mine leaving their money in the towns. Petrol, food, accommodation, pubs and what they leave at the local bait & tackle shop is great.

The best of the old bone handle knives are the ones with the square handle and the dirty looking steel blade not the polished steel blades.The older steel is easier to sharpen and holds it edge much better than the polished steel. These are the best for filleting.We still use the bone handle knives every day at home but the handles don't like the dishwasher that much.
