  1. fair call knackers. Probably lobbing baits. I have some gear that can be used for chucking lures. As th wife doesnt really like surf fishing i am trying to make it as easy as possible so its more enjoyable for her (and prolong my fishing time ).Kelvin, thanks for the offer. ill check them out in the tackle store and get back to you. cheers.
  2. Okay, I am after a Surf fishing rod for my wife, she is a slight lady and only about 5'4".I want to get her something that she will find light enough to use when we are in port lincoln for a week. I have some heavy surf rods like 5120's & 6120's. My concern is that these will get rather heavy. If people have suggestions please chuck it out there for me.
  3. id try one. but they are over priced. ergonomics are greater then conventional fishing rods.
  4. chook pellets soaked in tuna oil.pilchards cubed or crushed.
  5. Nice, does anyone know if these are Aus stamped shimano reels? jut wodnering in terms of warranty.
  6. Well said.being a member of the Gawler Angling club for about 15 years i have seen the closure of many fishing locations thanks to litter (as many fisho's have). We often clean up what we can, where we are fishing. We are not "greenies" but care as most people do. A part of our consitution surronds fish preservation, litter removal falls in line with this. Locations like Blanchetown and Lake Bonney are the worst for general litter. As most of us are carrying black tubs or atleast 20L white buckets we will fill them with litter. Many members will carry a spade to bury discarded fish and fish fra
  7. I bought some bolle from the store in harbour town. Really nice, grip on to head but don't apply pressure. $80
  8. Fished Mildura (Lock Island). Half hearted effort.Caught yabbies, carp, undsized callop and silver perch.Fished 1-2pm and caught the carp.Fished 7.30-8.30pm caught the natives.Yabbies caught on worms on the hooks. Thanks for the advice from S&Hers.
  9. $50.00 yes, $100.00 maybe, $500.00 no.Ultimately it will depend on the level you are at with your fishing personally. I dont believe this gentleman could teach many methods or techniques that you can not learn through other means.I would prefer to pay someone for a heap of grounds. But then again snapper is not one of my favourite fish to catch. That is just my opinion.
  10. We recommend these rods to people in our club (gawler Angling Club) for thier first Beach rod. they are pretty forgiving and you can target a variety of species. can be sued from the rocks casting big flaots as well. i still have my original wilson 4120 and also an extended rodworks 6120 that i could pull a truck with (figure of speach i wouldnt actually try, i love this rod)The difference between the 4120 and 5120 is load rating and number of fibre glass wraps.i use my 4120 with a 4500b baitrunner. 20lb powerpro braid.
  11. Personally I dont liek ebay. Money leaves the country. I like to buy my tackle from my local store. the money stays locally. it keeps my mates employed. it keeps the store open. it makes warranty easier. I realise that internet sales only make up a small % of the retail market but it is just one of those things.I guess one thing to remember, if something appears to be good to be true, it probably is. Just becasue something comes from Japan doesnt mean it is good. for example, Yamaha

  13. i only collect the seaweed/beach worms.these look like little tiger worms, but white. they live at the base off seaweed. they feed on the decomposing material. when you pull back to lose dry weed you will see that there is a "mat like" layer of munched up seaweed. this is where the worms will live, or a few inches below in the sand. i hope this helps.
  14. All, headed to port hughes saturday arvo. caught 25 tommies. the were going of their face when i got there. then scuba divers came through and scared everything away. it was rather odd. usually the fish come back.turned these into smoked tommies
  15. Mate most the beach has Crabs, i dont often crab as i like eating them but not catching them.Fish the rising an falling tide for YFW at the moment. Also mullet getting and around at times. The channel (seen on google clearly) is a nice place at times. In terms of Pub... there is no pub but a social club with liquer licence, they do meals as well and love new faces in there (its on the left as you enter the town). Dublin Pub (10 km back up the road) is very neat, renovated recently. The publican and staff are nice. TAB for those who like a bet. they can do most things for you form 4ft pepperoni
