    Did the drive to Cape Jervis yesterday and it was well worth it, hit the water at 6.00am with two mates on the boat, first cast (3km out) brought in 5 snapper on the three paternoster rigs, we caught our limit of 15 snapper in around 20 minutes of mayhem all around 45-50cm, tried some other marks for bigger ones but we were plauged with the same size fish and called it a day on the snapper and went in closer for some snook and squid and had a great day and in by 12.00 noon.

    Yesterday arvo I caught my PB Salmon, a 5kg beauty caught on a 1500 reel, and bream rod, on 5lb braid and 8lb leader, with a 20 gram knight. Was awesome to catch off a reef, and very hard cover. Was caught off Cummins jetty Caught heaps of others between 30-60cm(a real mixed school) and lost 3 or 4 similar size to my big one, including one that snapped off my roosta popper at my feet after trying to land it for 7 or so minutes. All in all an awesome time. Pixies to come later. Yakman

    I prefer the 'feel' of mono- and use it for everything except deep reef bottom bashing. Might try braid on a finely tuned spin outfit to give it another crack

    depends on depths and structurefishing where theres wrecks/reef etc its better with mono , if doing depth with clear bottom then braids good i have gone back to mono on most of mine, tangles are damn hard to get out braid cuts into skin and hurts like hellcfr

    I haven't had much trouble finding KGW's for two years now.Bagged out on them just recently and catches of up to 20 fish consistent all year except for in between the winter/summer season runs. I would gestimate that out of 20 trips we may have come back 3 times with zero tingers in the esky?If the whiting are near the legal limit then use a rag when handling them off the hook and measuring them as this should aid in releasing with less harm to the fish.Like most things fishing it's all about knowledge.TB
