Yakmando 49
Looking at getting a 10lb, 300yd spool of power pro for my 4000 baitrunnerDL at the moment, and was wondering how much colour matters. I am looking at either red or green. For mainly snapps and salmon lure casting (mabye even for Mully live baiting in onk) i think red is the better option, but whats your opinion?Yakman
Ugly4Life 41
Don't think it matters much, since the rig/leader is what the fish will be seeing. I've found that the Moss Green Power Pro is almost impossible for me to see and so I don't like it much any more.I tend to use white Stren Microfuse because it's very visible but the new Orange Power Pro 'Bite Motion' is looking good too. plankton 725
Don't think it matters to the fish, and as mentioned you should have a length of mono/fluoro leader anyway. I do prefer the yellow power pro for lure casting when I want to be able to see the line, for deep water jigging or lure work I'll use any colour.
Damo67 6
Yellow power pro for me
TT 2
Yer I mainly use Yellow for all my braids.I like to see whats going on and Yellow does that for me!TT
Yakmando 49
Yeah, these comments are what i expected. The reason for red or green is because I can get a 300 yd spool off ebay for $27, and they are the only colours. I usually go yellow.
TT 2
Red would still be good though mate.I would say still quite visible. But here you go. Possible option mate? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Power-Pro-Braided-Line-10lb-300yd-Braid-HI-VIS-YELLOW-10-300y-NEW-/310451602777?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item48485b8559&_uhb=1#ht_2400wt_1037 TT

Dan C 1
I've got that dark green on my snapper combo and its a pain! Especially as the sun goes down...
Woody 0
Use yellow if you want to see what your line is doing but red is the first colour of the spectrum that disappears underwater
Just Me 0
Use yellow if you want to see what your line is doing but red is the first colour of the spectrum that disappears underwater If red disappears first, why bother with any red beads on your whiting rigs. Just a scam?
Kelvin 2,200
http://www.deep-six.com/page77.htmRed is the first color to be filtered at depth and will appear murky dark to black
Just Me 0
It was tongue in cheek. Red disappears between 20-30 feet so red beads at those depths would be useless. Green lumos would be better.
Scissors 308
Fluro colours for lure work where you need to see the line to work out when you are on the bottom. Darker colours if it doesn't really matter. Be careful buying Powerpro online, lots of fakes out there.
