urhookedfish 12
The douche bag did manage to hook a decent fish?Looked like a salmon or Kahwai if in NZ?
waspy 3
I think these things are used in queensland a bit ,from what ive read as i havent ever done this style of fishing before, is your supposed to try to swing the fish up and catch it between your knees whilst on the tripod.Bad luck he lost the fish looked like a fair size if it was in queensland most likely a large tailor,at least the alvey can take the dunking in the salt water so he doesnt have to run home to clean it
Crusher 18
no fish is worth that. especially not a salmon.Note the camera man kept rolling and didnt run out to help at all.
Rockfish 0
Depending on who it is, trying to cling onto the tripod, I probably wouldn't rush to their aide either. It would take me a while, what with all the tossing up between taking hilarious footage and ending a perfectly entertaining slapstick-sequence

Bass13 10
Classic . I've seen poding in a 70's fishing book. But in the 70's they where wearing corduroy paints, woollen jumper's and fishing place's like Tennyson. You would have a death wish using it in the surf :silly:
Guest linke84
He should have left the tripod on the beach and rested his rod on it while he ate his lunch!

I did it in a mates pool. Head first, feet first you name it. It just doesn't seem to happen. I used to be dead against waders in the boat, now not so fussed. Maybe if somebody is worried wear a PFD?I'm not going to test it in the surf though.
