Use a scaling bag. Remove the head, cut about off about 1 cm above the bottom of the tube then tow behind the boat for a couple of minutes at 15 knots. They come out clean as a whistle.

North Haven public boat ramp fee has increased
seagypsy replied to niftrev's topic in General Fishing
Something like 59,000 registered boat owners in South Australia paying on average $ 60 dollars per annum in facilities Levy and it costs us $13 dollars a pop to launch. You'd think some of that money could be used to subsidise launching at privately owned ramps. -
60 km ish

Recently did an over night trip from North Haven to Black Point catching some snapper along the way.

Probably true there dutchy but no rising damp mentioned on building inspection. Shitty small extension that will be demolished in due course.

Leaders - Mono with Fluro Leader/Braid with Mono Leader etc
seagypsy replied to doobie's topic in Bait & Tackle
This year I will be putting fluro carbon againtst mono leader to test in a practical sense. As of today I haven't seen any major benefit when running fluro as opposed to mono in the fishing that I do. The only benefit I have seen is to external parties ie, more cash in the pocket of the tackle shop. -

Awesome bloke ! Would have been good to be apart of Big fish from a small boat makes it even more special. -
Top effort, good to see young fellas embracing fishing and the outdoor life style.

Apparently there is a heap of large snapper off Port MacDonald atm. Might explain the absence in our gulf atm.

Maybe they could trade some of the $100,000 dollar land cruisers in and buy tritons and stop buying ultra expensive twin engine patrol boats.

I use it in 10lb for soft plastics fishibg for snapper with a 20 lb leader and have had no issues with it so far. I have it on a 5000 size shimano reel in I think 30 lb and it feels really thick and doesn't run off the real very well at all when dropping a jig or plastic under about 50 grams. I only use FG knots for my braid to fluro connections atm.

150 Four Stroke Yamaha is the exact motor I was using lol. Good decision they are a sensational motor. I use stick baits, metal divers, metal slugs pretty much anything shinny. Salmon aren't fussy. I have good success with the gold bombers that they use for barramundi as well. Ill take a photo of some today and upload it.

Salmon from a boat is excellent fun. Just make sure you have a reliable motor, always have someone watching for approaching waves, have your anchor ready to go and don't get to confident. I usually only do it when there is an offshore breeze so that I get blown out rather than in if something happens to the motor. Cheers
