  1. Anyone know where I can get my hands on some of these?

I have a couple, however Daiwa discontinued them shortly after and I haven't seen any since.

I'm aware of a handful of the larger 120SPs floating around, but not the 95SPs so if anyone knows of any tackle stores still holding them, it is something I would be interested in.

    Cheers

  2. Port Adelaide Bait & Tackle. Unfortunately they dont have a web page - only Face Book (and I dont do social media) but I managed to jag this image.

The price tage suggests maybe its not the quality I imagined- however I have seen this type of design before. They have a belt clip on the handle, fold down well and expand when needed. I have also seen more expensive versions at TackleWorld in the fly fishing section.

I dont think they come with a case however, so you would.more than likely have to sort something like that out.

When the kids were little we used to head to Normanville & stay at the jetty Caravan Park, either camping or in a cabin. We always had a great time.

The beaches from Normy to Carrackalinga are great for kids & dogs.

You can beach fish from Lady Bay all the way to Carry, Second Valley Jetty is not far away & neither are the rocks at Myponga Beach.

The cafe at Normy Jetty has recently changed hands & is apparently great & Yankallila Bakery is famous for its goods.

I think it is a better spot than Victor, less crowded & less commercial.

    Cheers

Pretty much covers off all of my wants / needs and at this early stage sounds like winner. Will look more into this area - thanks Vogon!

TL, if the hound is an inside doggie and going with you, check out the PetLet chain of accommodations. They have heaps of rentals down that way and the dog is welcome inside in all of them. There is a couple of cracker ones around Encounter Lakes (PetLet#4) Bream fishing off the back door step!!! Oh, and there is playgrounds and stuff too:lol:

    Cheers,

    Greg.

Thanks Greg, I will keep this in mind as he does spend nights inside with us.

  4. Hi All,

Looking to take the family (wife & toddler, possibly dog) on a weekend away down south along the Fleurieu Peninsula in the next month or so. Unfortunatel I have almost zero experience with the area.

Primarily it will be for family time. We are thinking coastal (walking distance to beach), family friendly (toddler friendly especially) but I would love to be able to duck out for a few hours in the morning / evening and flick some HBs/SPs at the local Nemo population.

Does anyone with experience in the area have any advice on something that would match that description?

    Cheers TL

I use a 1000 for all my fishing from chasing bream In the port, to Mullies down the Coorong to trout in the hill and even while wading the flats

ive had it for going on two years and it hasn’t missed a beat I absolutely love it

i also have the older fi version which I think is a bit stronger but the ci4+ is just so light

it does get a bit of flex when hooked to larger fish but nothing that has worried me

Exactly the feedback I was after mate - especially given you have had for a lengthy period of time and appear to have put it through some significant paces!

  6. Ive been using the Rapala sling bag for about 6 months now and highly recommend them. Holds 2 x 3600 tackle trays. Bag slides around to form a "work table". Everything us accessible whilst wearing the bag which is great!

Has easy access places for scissors and pliers. If you get creative you can even hang stuff of the D ring or the strap itself.

If you want to carry everything, including the kitchen sink. I DONT reccomend this bag. But if your a fan of "less is more" or you only take what you need on any given trip, they are great!

Price wise, I picked mine up online for about $65-$70 as I couldnt find the exact one I wanted in store. Places like Tackleworld stock the newer models as well. You might even be able to pick one up from one if the site sponsors if they stock them.

  7. Hi All,

Hopefully a quick question. I currently store my SPs (Zman, Squidgies, Gulps etc) in their original packaging, however I was wondering if there is any issue storing them in containers / tackle trays, either mixed or grouped to individual types and colours?

From what I understand you should store Zman and Gulps together, but are there any others that dont "play nice" together?

Do the SPs "bleed" and alter the colour of other SPs?

    Cheers
