  3. Go down to Sports Fishing Scene & ask for Darren, if not Ian, they will be happy to go through the different rods to suit your price range with ya & that way you get a rod that suits you & fishing style. The latest rods are just about to hit the shelfs.
  4. Got one of these Mustangs in my back yard at the moment, very impressive layout. http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=11354517&Silo=Stock&Vertical=Boat&Ridx=0&eapi=2
  5. www.norglass.com.au/products/weatherfast-deck-paint is just an enamal base paint. After playing around with different options, 2pac Autothane commercial paint is the hardest wearing, prime your surface first with an alloy epoxy primer, roll on a coat of Autothane & sprinkle dried sand in it, let it dry for at least 20 mins, blow off excess sand & then roll on the top coat. This will stop your carpet slipping around & protect the alloy from corrosion. The carpet will speed up any corrosion if left.I've had carpet in the pass & I don't miss it, just an extra job to clean, I prefer t
  6. They've always treated me & the lad well too.Was there this morning & Darren showed me their latest range of rods, the mouth was watering. The new Storm range of rods look & felt killa, the mid range was fine enough for whiting with the power of landing a snapper.
  7. Good to watch the different angles of letting them flares of, the ones let of at a 45 degree angle hit the ground still burning.Any flares pointed straight up on an angle will extinguish before hitting the ground or water & get max. benefit of being sighted.
  8. If you have a good back, it can be done if you don't mind getting wet & you or the crew don't get sea sick sitting there waiting for the first bite. You could give it a try to see it for yourself, but be willing to turn around & fish sheltered waters.I look for better days with less than 15 knts.
  9. May need the commutator machined & undercut
  10. More cheap outboards, Sail http://www.graysonline.com/sale/5006968/boats-marine-aircraft/new-sail-outboard-motor-sale-4-2-stroke?spr=true
  11. You thought right JM, it's 15% unless Ale knows something that we don't know
  12. Well took time of to check out this year's deal & found the boat show is getting smaller. The organisers have partitioned of about quarter of the pavillion so it didn't look too empty, even then there was empty areas. Tri was giving the Hummingbird & Lowrance guys a hard time,4THA couldn't care less & HSV got more work out of it
  13. I see the boat show is on again at Wayville in June 20th - 23rd.I hope there's more encouragement to get more exhibitors on show this year. http://www.southaustralia.com/info.aspx?id=9006489

  15. I wouldn't get too worried about the whole issue weather it's going to be converted to a public jetty or not.EPA would have to do a report on the jetty & adjacent land for suitable redevelopment.Mobile would have a fair idea what's it's going to cost and prefer this stagnation between Council & Government to go on.So at the moment, you could call it a marine park as it stands.
  16. Funny you brought this up, have been talking about this subject to few mates about what angle should the rod be at.I agree with you say with deep water, depending on tide run, having them HORIZONTAL, but saying that I have bent my rod rack up a little. In shallower waters say up to 15 mtrs I've been working with the rods in the standard angle rod holders.Reason, once a fish has taken the bait & the drag has been pre set & thats light, watch how much a quality rod bends, it's almost perfect bend in the angle rod holder & that way it keeps good pressure on the hook until it's been set
  17. It's a real nice rod brenton & very economically priced too, I just happen to have a spare Symetre reel with 15 lb 832 Suffix loaded on it to fit up.Used it a couple of times & 4THALOVE took possession of it for the rest of the day and I was left with the TICA nibble tip to use for chasing some local whiting & the odd flathead, just check the boat to make sure the Bushy Bait Legend was still there.
  18. Found this one interesting, gives weather forecasts & plays todays & yesterday's movements in fast forward in today's & yesterday's movie of the ramps & Outer Harbor. http://ozforecast.com.au/cgi-bin/weatherstation.cgi?station=11236&animate=6
