  4. improved albright for me.. was taught it when i first when to braid.. and ive stuck with it ever since
  5. congrats mate on the good deed.. if you need a few plastics i got some spares flaoting around. mostly in small sizes. also got a good supple of larger hooks 3/0s mostly if you want a few. cant help with much else.. im based in West Adelaide. a few of the lads on here helped me out when i had my tackle bag stolen from my car after it was broken into.. i lost a couple grands worth of lures plastics reels and spools.. so happy to help out a lil bit if i can!
  6. do we have any news on who bought it?where its gone??
  7. catching is one thing.. releasing is another
  8. half a tommy.. depending on size of the Tommy. i prefer 4/0s as a good all rounder.. 6/0 circles are pretty good too.. will also depend on the fish.. with pannies.. a 2x 2/0 snelled rig is pretty effective..
  9. jettys and in close... rougher the better... snapper ban from november to december.. but traditionally.. snapper are a warmer weather targetted fish. so a summer target. but still plenty of snaps around in the cooler weather
  10. i probably wouldn't kayak armchair.. its a land based rock fishing area. but yes there is some big catches there at times.. including sharks!
  11. MAtt, Hornes make a good wader... goes with out saying you want water tight and chest high.. but your boot and seems are the weak points. check them out. also check out the seams up the leg. nothing worse than wet..... gentleman bits .. from a leaky seam. in water you will feel the wader leg and boot compressed onto your body by the water pressure. so any small leak will make a huge difference.
  12. "box of snapper gear" would consist of assortment fo swivels and hooks and sinkers.. depending on your rod/rigs change a bit in size. you can buy some basics such as 4/0, 6/0 hooks, large swivels and some 3-4oz sinkers depending on your casting weight of line/rod.and yes outter harbour has snapper off the rocks.. as does a few of the jettys in the right conditions..
  13. you almost feel like you could swim with them.. with out the cage.. they are so gentle and amazing to watch form their level..

  15. few pics taken while out with calypso, all these photos taken while on board calypso with either my own gear or gear supplied to our crew members. just a word to the wise... TAKE SEA SICK TABLETS even if your a local and a fisherman for all your life.. dont let 12hrs on the ocean and 500$ get wasted by a bit of stubborn pride and the " i never get sea sick" attitude.. costs only a few $$$ think of it as an investment on your 500 spent to get on board!ive seen so many people curled up in the festal position all day long burleying up the fishes.. that made the " i never get sick, i dont need
  16. nice photos.. good to sea Australian Sea Lions and not NZ fur seals!
  17. Assuming your talking about calypso Star Shark cage diving..it costs $50 bucks for the DVD of highlights and stock footage. but there is a way to get that for free we offer the DVD free as part of the package when booking the shark diving via Nullarbor traveller for our Passengers.. ive done it as has my girl. we both loved the experience. we did ours in June. 8 sharks up to and a bit over 5m with us all day.they have had a slow few weeks. but it seems the sharks are coming back in. Could be something to do with pupping season of the Australian Sealions. i know the Bairds Bay Populati9on i
  18. 3" minnows in pumpkin are fantastic lil plastics! a go to lure everytime.. Motor oil,Pumkin,Pilchard, are 3 of the better colours ive used for general fishing!
  19. as mentioned above PRojecta Typhoon 150, or TYP150 is its code. rated very high in the 4wd magazine comparison test a few years back.
  20. slow..... when you think your slow enough.. slow it down again..cheap lures dont always swim well...plastics are cheap.. and effective.. look at the types of plastics. paddle tails and curl tails work for you.. jerk shads etc you have to work. find the structure and you find the fish
  21. interesting article circulating at moment..
  22. a projecta TYP150 is often a cheap but good compressor.. we sold thousands at Motor Traders while i was there.. i have one too!http://www.elecspess.com.au/products/product/TYP150
