Session 1: I had a quick flick for Bream before work last week, but only managed a few of these.I had my only Wriggler biten in half, didn't even feel the bite. Someone else likes to fish in comfort from these rocks. Session 2: I spent 2hrs walking the rocks last weekend flicking soft plastics and had no bites but managed to catch my strangest SP catch to date. :silly: Changed tactics when I was coming back off the rocks and Gar rescued me from a fishing doughnut. :woohoo: Session 3: Took the Tinny out in search of a few crabs on a beautiful morning.Caught a few crabs , and some other creatures. Biggest crab to date, 61cms. :woohoo: Singapore Chilly crabs. Butter fried Scallop to feed the family. Cheers.

Those STs do that a lot!I was at the Pa the other day and it was just like looking into a sea of the things. Nailed quite a few that day as revenge for all the tails they chomped off. All were released tho

Traditionally rollmops are made from herrings (an oily fleshed fish), but I cant see why Garfish couldn't make a good substitute. Any small bones remaining would also be softened/dissolved by the vinegar. Here's a very simple recipe:Method- Fillet the herrings Garfish very thoroughly.- Sprinkle each fillet with a few peppercorns and a little salt.- Roll them up tightly and pack into jars.- Add 1 chilli and a few onion rings to each jar.- Cover with white wine vinegar.- Leave in the fridge for about 5 days.- They are then ready to eat.- Delicious with sour cream.

hey fellas long time no post lol. well anyway my young fella has been onto me for ages too go fishing his only 3.5 years old but knows what lures reels rods and so fourth are.So the other day we grabbed him a chepo combo too thrash around as kids do and that just increased the amount of can we go fishing dad being asked as too be expected though gotta love em .Well yesterday seemed like a good time too take him for his first flick .Headed down too a spot on the river where a few of us regularly catch our live bait knowing there is always schools of something around there and got him all set flicked out a few "baby worms" aka gents under the float and showed him where too hold the rod and let him go.A few minutes later he was onto his first fish :woohoo: a bream of around 20cm but too him it was fighting like a pointer on 24kg gear so after a slight drag adjustment on the plastic reel and he landed his first fish for hte after we hung around for an hr or so and he got a few mullet couple of st's and scored a double header reckon i might be in trouble in around another 10 years time or so .MM

I have an 80 series Landcruiser, 1993, just clicked over to 334,000 kms on the way to work this morning, dual fuel Petrol and LPG. Comfortable driving on road, pretty much take you anywhere you point it off road and tows well. Great for taking heaps of gear and the family camping. Keep thinking I should sell it, but don’t really want to let it go. You could pick something like this up for $7 - $9000.Somewhere on the Eyre Peninsula.Good luck with your search lots to choose from.

Hey ShaneomackI picked up a Berkley IM7 Dropshot Tournament Pro Gen II, one piece 6.6’ 8-10kg Jerk-n-Jig for $100 at Ray and Annes last night. That’s way under your budget for what I believe is a quality SP Snapper rod. Lots of beer tokens left over. I matched it up with a Shimano Aernos 4000FA, spooled with 15lb Tufline XP Red. To say I’m excited about using this combo on an upcoming Snapper charter is a massive understatement. :woohoo: Cheers.

Good to be back online and with the Mully Magnet fresh an looking new , HANGING to land a mulloway . Got out once before last night and had a few runs that night but no hook ups . Then last night got down to the Onk at 2:30ish , Flubba an Rik were chasing live bait . Said gday for a bit then headed of to chase my own live bait . Spent about 3 or 4 hrs to get a decent amount . Was struggling a bit with the slow outward tide of the river . Moved to my spot before dark set up . My bait was getting hammered by nocks with a couple of decent bream over 35cm getting my drag moving and caught , before a nice pull of my drag resulted in landing a nice 60 cm Mulloway . Things slowed down a bit with the tide in the river constantly dropping till about 11:30pm ish . Few more hours past an a few more bream caught with about a total of 9 bream . 5 over the 35 cm mark with the biggest 39 and the rest smaller to 25 cm . Then with my last live bait , an a prayer it didnt last long , i cast out tired an cold . I didn't have to wait long before a solid run , strike and it was on . Not a huge screaming run from this fish and had me wondering if it was going to be legal . Little bit of river covered an a tangled net to untangle i managed to net a very nice 85cm mulloway an a second for the night . :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

piratepom got a reaction from 4THALOVE in Has Strike&Hook caught you a fish?
Nice topic Jack. The Strike and Hook site has directly led me to catching fish. Site member Shauno organised a charter last year which led to several site members catching big Snapper. Now some may say ‘easy to catch fish on a charter’ and that may or may not be the case but that day 3 amazing things happened.1. Watching my son catch some big Snapper :woohoo: 2. Catching a 10kg+ Snapper :woohoo: :woohoo: 3. And this was the most rewarding, catching a Snapper on my new combo which was bought on direct advice from the tackle night and was my first Snapper on a soft plastic. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Happy day.
