  1. PIRSA will tell you anything if it means they don't have to spend $$$$ bet they have 0 science to back up those claims
  2. thats a pisser Grazz64 I can see that in your profile pic, heavy things that is
  3. Sorry guys it was a joke :)I just made it sound a bit like one of their announcments :silly: the fact that it was believed to be true just goes to show the lack of confidence we have in our fisheries dept and government in general
  4. Pirsa Fisheries has hired a large team of scientists and analysts to study the liklehood of a big flood washing some of those hatchlings to SA,$4million going into the study, the full report will be ready for public viewing in sep 2017
  5. Their good but having to superglue them onto hooks so your not constantly getting your pants pulled down is a pain I use the HWS jigheads and haven't had to glue any.Hidden weights or weedless they are ok but try using them on normal jigheads like tt's ect, gets very frustrating quickly

  7. Turtleback worm salmon roe chubbyEcogear VX35 gold/black
  8. I have 3 techni-ice boxes, most of them last for 10-14 days with block ice in summer, but I do find that my kookaburra ice box lasts even longer
  9. Yeah thats mad as' date=' care to inform how to do so talbo?[/quote']Look up PLAT Japan they should have what you need
  10. Rotor bearing or main bearing would be my guess, had the same problem with shimano ci4, felt smooth to wind without line but then tie on a 1g jighead and rough as guts cheers
  11. Spot on mate the 2 braids I mentioned are PE 0.6 I use them for anything from bream, perch and mulloway to freshwater fish like callop, reddies and trout As you mentioned all the advantages of light braid without all the associated problems of 2-4 and 6lb braids.
  12. The next step up from sunline super pe is sunline Castaway or Momentum 4x4, expensive but worth the extra $ be aware that these are true 8 strand Braids, 10lb breaks at 10lb and is similar in diametre to most 3-4lb test braid brands that have been mentioned in this thread.cheers
  13. If theres few snags then ditch the HB's and just drop blades on their heads, much easier way to hookem
  14. Jointed rebels are about the only HB that works down here, don't know if it's because of the extra action? silver/blue seems the best colour.Brenton, what are snagless blades?
  15. T-Bone, if you need JDM gear that's hard to find, you can get new model gear from PLAT around 6 months before Aus retailers get it in stock often for half the price aswell
  16. Can understand/respect that but point of view, but for things like gulp's I can't go past bigW $8 a pack, and my local tackle store $13 a pack :S the markups at the local are just tooo high even on low end products. I'm all for supporting local stores and spend plenty a week there but only on selected items that I sometimes have to barter down to RRP to save being ripped off

  18. Squid don't have have a large blood line resting against their flesh like fish do so they won't taint the meat anywhere near as quick, eating fish prepared like that would probably see the average person spray painting the porceline two ways, for a few days :pinch:
  19. simply sharpen a screwdriver on a grinding wheel then stick it into the carps brain, quick and simple, or use a strong knife
  20. It's a bit hard to believe that PIRSA can fine people for breeding noxious fish when their playing the same game on a much larger scale I wonder how hard it would be to take fisheries to court and fine them for breaching their own regulation. Sorry for rubbing it in AFF, point of interest though is that every upgrade I mentioned apart from stocking are all council funded with the ideas for the lake coming through public consultation, the money from fishing lic revenue is only needed for 1 of the 2 stockings per year! The other option for this lake was to decomission it and lock ever
  21. It is a pity, a lake I fish in vic at the moment is getting a new boat ramp, picnic and toilet facilities, new sinage and a 1 million dollar wall upgrade to maintain a high water level and a twice annual stocking, as well as pontoons to fish from and car parks. In vic the Gov is smart enough to realise that recreational fishing brings big $$ benifits to rural communities

    Which rod?

Most would use a whippier rod for plastics and stiffer rod for hardbodys but with a fast action. so yes definately different rods cheers
