That is one big brown, almost looks abnormal

Good photos of the trout run and would be great sitting there watching them try to jump the obstacles.

Nice pick up of lures and a good price and all it took was a 'rumour' and a phone call.

Here's a few pic's of wild brown trout on the spawning run at the weir on the Tyenna River in the South of Tasmania.. Photos are by Tyenna Dave and I thank him for allowing me to share them with you all on the site.. Dave is one of the great trout fisho's in the South whether it be on the fly or lure fishing..

Daiwa are doing a massive clearout getting ready for this Seasons AFTA show to release the new daiwa products that are getting put onto the market. Generally now is a good time to pick up specials as they change item lines every 3 months to keep things fresh and updated

That actually explains a lot. I use these as well and had noticed about 2 months ago the price dropped from $20 to $10 in all local tackle stores. It might not be the only ones they are discontinuing either, as the same tackle stores had a few of there other smaller ones discounted to the same price.

I heard the Daiwa were not producing the Gekkabijin Yoguri lure any more, well the small ones that I use any way which are the 4F models (42mm/ 2gm) floating hard body lures. So I rang Daiwa Australia to confirm it and they said "That's correct, they're being discontinued and they have 15 left in stock. If want them I'd have to be quick and get hold of a Daiwa seller and get them to get them in for me. Well I was quickly on the phone and was lucky enough to get twelve of the Ghost Brown ones that I use from Daiwa.. so i do have some nice trout lures to see me out for a while proving I don't get busted off too often like I did towards the end of the trout season when I lost two in two trips, then broke the bib of the only surviving ghost brown one. Now what's left of them are probably in tackle shops around the country..These were selling from $17-95 to $22-95 each and I picked them up for $11-95 ea which I was very happy with.. also came with free postage too..
    cheers

You know how we like to say their bigger than they really are

He reckoned they were just under the kilo when he went past me - and they did look a good size from the distance when he caught them - bet he was a little disappointed

just come back from sitting on those hard bum cushions on Sullies breakwater.
4 Mullet, 2 toadies and something that busted me off under the float.
(2 x 1kg salmon caught by a guy a little further away on soft plastics).

yes, was definitely meant in just in good humour Poppa
Was just meaning, we fishermen work through any pain to just go fishing
But in reality it can't always be the case - and I too would be a little cautious, so hope you start getting on the mend soon and once all is right with you, you can start to get out for a fish

Who's getting out for a flick over the weekend and what are you planning on chasing?

It looks like Sunday may be the better day weather wise with some rain forecast on Saturday morning. Also looks like winds will be picking up late morning on the Saturday.

Get out there and have a crack I say and don't forget to write up a report.

Not me. Solid mountain bike ride tomorrow will clear out  the week's troubles. Muddy and slippery trails to keep things honest too.

Tides a bit dodgey but better Sunday too.

Do it mate, you'll love it. Possibility of Flatties, little KGW, Bream and ST's. The rocks at the marina entrance hold some good Bream that love plastics, but it is a snag fest area. Good luck.
