  1. sorry to hear of your loss, i have friends that live there and they have never said it was a bad area? Now didn't you say it fell off your ute and was on the road? how did these people steal it? sounds like they found it. if you didn't go to the police station to report it how do you know they didn't hand it in as found property?as said sorry for your loss but i think its a bit rough starting a thread putting down a country town and calling people names when you lost it! Stansbury is a nice place, my friends who live there and i have never had any trouble there!cheers chuck

  2. I've got a Sunbeam VAC440 which I've been more than happy with performance-wise' date=' but as Chuck mentioned above, the price of the genuine Sunbeam bags can be a bit of a downer.Cheersaf[/quote']just looked and ours is the VAC660, i'm going to order some of those bags Del pointed us too they look good value B) cheers chuck
  3. the newer breed of top shelf Daiwa reels do not let water inside, snapps lost his Luvius over the side to a big mully, it took us 3 hours to find it and when he took it in for a service the guy said it was bone dry and like new inside.I have never pulled my Daiwas apart and they run as smooth as the day i bought them, the only problem i have had is the bearing in the bail arm roller, believe me this IS your problem! symptoms are exactly the same as you described ;) cheers chuck

  4. Yeah' date=' these comments are what i expected. The reason for red or green is because I can get a 300 yd spool off ebay for $27, and they are the only colours. I usually go yellow.[/quote']gee your getting ripped off i pay $12.80 delivered for my 300mt spools and any color or lbs you want, you need to search again haha ;) cheers chuckhere ya go try this one ;)
  5. highly doubt it would've been the work of a professional fisherman' date=' makes no sense that they would cut the heads of and leave them and then what? rock up to the market with headless mullies.....don't reckon soWould've been a rec filleting their catch on the water thinking it would make it harder to prove what they took if caught with fillets.Just saying that's all, by no means condoning the behaviour[/quote']there were no bodies to be seen "Only Heads!" very strange indeedi wondered if it was rec or maybe a pro trying to make it look like it wasn't a pro?there was a huge amount of fish in this creek now there "seems?" to be none? and just a couple of months back my son did catch a pro boat in there and got photo's of the boat, fisheries said there was nothing they could do unless they had photos of them with the nets in and advised them if it happens again to maybe hang off and see what they are doing. Fisheries knew the boat and said they would talk to the guy but there is no rule about being in a creek, so nothing could be donewhoever did it shame shame shame! wouldn't you love to just catch whoever and see the law do it's job for a change B) cheers chuck
  6. Got a call today from my son who was fishing one of our favourite creeks, they couldn't find one Mully, BUT! there were 15 heads of Mulloway, no bodies just heads, on the bottom that they could see :c who knows how many more where in the deeper water :c i'd really like to know how any marine park or any new rule is going to help fish stocks when the government can't even police the rules they have in place :angry:Posted Imagetheres always some prick out there that will always kill as many as they can and take what ever they catch by what ever means they like :c NOT HAPPY JAN! 7. i've fished butlers property for over 30 years but have never been in summer, too hot for me :P we used to fish from when it re-opened in August/sept till November in that time i have caught and seen caught, Tommies gar squid salmon mulloway and rock fish. It is a great place to be thats for sure as the fishing and scenery is usually great, in summer keep an eye out for the snakes seen heaps there over the years. Treasure cove is a good safe place to fish on the out going or incoming tide for squid and gar, you walk out on the exposed reef to the left of the beach, watch out on the incoming tide the water doesn't trap you on the end. just walk back and keep fishing on the incoming. Personally i liked the out going tide, hope that helps a littlecheers chuckHere is the reef and where to fish on it (low tide)butlerstreasurecove.jpg

  8. STRONGLY ADVISE NOT LEAVING CAR UNATTENDED!i work for a local government body that deals with the area. i have seen everything down there from dumped dogs and cats (alive and not)' date=' to burnt cars & even a burnt 20ft glass boat, asbestos is always dumped there as well. we can not nab them as they often use stolen plates and our cameras are often vandalised.for your own safety dont go, land based is fine.[/quote']been fishing for many years in this creek and yes 80% of the times we go there is a burnt out wreck or the spot where a burnt out wreck was, BUT have never had any trouble leaving the car there in the day. It is very rare to not have normal people fishing there so there really is people coming and going all day. i have not heard of any cars damaged during the day, not to say it doesn't happen but we have never had any trouble, YET! ;) the creek hold good sized bream mullet flathead and the occasional salmon trout a great spot to fish for sure so don't give up B) cheers chuckPS middle beach is even more remote and i have heard of cars being damaged in the day time so don't think it will be any safer
