Yeah 10lb braid I've got on it. Might have to chuck a few around the back yard to get it down pat before I go out and look like an outright twat' date=' again! Cheers for all the tips fellas, much appreciated [/quote']Head down to your nearest oval with your gear mate cut the hook of one of the jig heads and go for broke we do it at Moggy23's all the time he got plenny of room just gotta dodge the trees :pinch: Cheers 4THA

Found this write up elsewhere hope it helps it should say on the side of your reel spool or box how much it can take of what lb line I usually put more mono backing on just enough to cover the spool metal as the braid will need enough layers of mono to 'bed down' on . I generally put on 12-15lb mono - depending on the size of the reel .Whether the reel is a standard, conventional type or if it is a braid specific reel if the reel is designed for braid then the recommended capacity should be fairly accurate.A starting point is to look at the reel specifications and the recommended line capacity - but don't look at the lbs, look at the line diameter. Then look at your braid and see if it is close to one of the suggested line diameter capacities and that will give you a ball park figure on how much to out on.Some people like to fill their spools up to the max so it can't hold any more. Others only fill up to half way or two third or three quarters so that is personal choice. Cheers 4THA

I wonder if they will eventually change the school holiday period to help the townships that rely on the huge number of tourist that flock to have their annual schnapper fix. Will be interesting to see how the townships react !!! As for the pro's having the schools spooked by the recco's be nice to return the favor :/ Cheers 4THA

I like to "harvest"the goolwa pipi personally, using the age old tradition of floundering around aimlessly in the wash an being walloped bye incoming dumpers, also protecting the pipi by supplying them a pair of sunglasses annually Cheers 4THA

Best looking reel on the market' date='i almost bought one a while ago but when i picked it up in the shop it was a bit noisy so i went with the stradic fj which still has xship anyway.Only complaint i have heard on the sustain was some guy on the net reckons on a big queenie he hooked the drag knob self tightened and busted him off so he sent it back. cheers brenton[/quote']. Agree with Brenton I also purchased the stradic fj 4000 matched it with the t-curve lucanus light for snapper awesome fun I nabbed an 8kg specimen in realatively shallow water handled it easily Good luck let us know what ya end up gettn

single patternoster, size 2/4 long shank hook above sinker, since the limit of kg's per person has dropped to 12 fish using 2 hooks means i can only drop it to tha bottom 6 times if i get double headers whiting whackers are crap and never use burley keep it simple cheers 4THA

sweet combo Nanman you weren't that bloke that won the 50 mil in xlotto by chance, buying gear like that :silly: i have enough trouble bringing my self to part with a coupla hundred for a t-curve and stradic combo just to chase snapper, would be a different story though if there was something worth chasing out here. cheers 4THA

I've always used WD 40 / CRC as they are a water displacement agent' date='and not detrimental to mono lines.......never thought of it breaking down grease though  ..........might have to dig deeper on this one.......[/quote']quote from shimano page
Do not use WD-40® or any degreaser, as it will cause premature wear and tear on the internal parts of your reel.
which makes me think that wd40 eats away the reel grease over time ??
-
not sure nic have heard not to use it before reckon it breaks down the grease oil not 100% though anyone else now any better??cheers 4THA
