  1. Moggy23,HSVLS19 and myself have had an excellent season on the schnappz and for the first time we all released our first biggn each,(awesome feeling by the way) B) because of the outfits we all use the fish are'nt being skull dragged in and suffering barotrauma and havn there bumz hang out, i have only had to swim tha 1 fish so far as did HSV, his gave a tail slap and actually hurt his wrist :pinch: i think water depth has a major part as we are fishn relativly shallow water also helping with the release, we try our best to get the fish in, sometimes a quick pic, then send them on their way.i have written in another post somewhere how i have now upsized to size 10/0 owner tournament circles to help prevent getting gut hooked fish as i have also mentioned before if the government departments heads were'nt so far up their own arses and read the threads/post's not just on this site but other forums it'd show em that we as a % of recco's are lookin after our own fishn futre to a certain extent keep c&r'n lads cheers 4THA

  3. Awesome I bought a whole bunch of these lures when I started fishing not knowing anything about lures' date=' still don't know too much, got them real cheap off eBay and after a while thought bugger cheap eBay lures probably wont work very well :laugh:Perhaps it's time to dust em off and give em a crack :)[/quote']
    Poppasnake
thanx for the report 4THAI have never chucked a lure at anything yet but have a couple of hard body shiny pretty blingy lures in my tacklebox and never thought I would ever use them. Didnt want to look like a goose not knowing what I'm doing but you have kindled my interest.Time for this old fella to "google" and try to learn something new
maybe Poppasnake & Bjorn2fish can catch up for a fish and i can collect the prize money from Shelly Craft for when i win Australias funniest home video :P:P:P seriously though have a crack with what ever you have in those tackle boxes cos st's will just about take anything and you never know what else may be interested as well cheers 4THA
  4. Nice one :) out of interest' date=' what size are the ones you picked up? Reckon we'll under 70mm is what I like, but thought they look good for winter hills trouties ;) Also like the floating/suspending lures, especially if you can dive em and they will pause at the same depth for a decent amount of time... My favourite lures are these that will stay at your required depth on the pause..... Maaan my casting arms getting twitchie just posting this  Nice feedback on the lures mate cheers[/quote']the lures we used were 70mm and floated up when paused but still got hit, like yourself i prefer the ones that stop mid water and seem to hold in the same level (sx 40's style) but the design of the magneto's are different.as for a twitchy casting arm be sure to loosen your shoulders up cos i reckon if Moggy23 feels anything like me this mornin he'll be sore :pinch: :pinch: how many cast was it Mog :S cheers 4THA
  5. tried out 2 of these lures today land based with Moggy23duellure.jpgthey have a good shallow dive on them and can be cast a fair distance, i got the colors SHIW & SHRH and caught an st on eachthey travel through the water nicely and float on the pause, they are available in a sinking model also i have put in a diagram of the magnet system inside and how it works img_magnetic.giffound them reasonably priced at the $15-20 range so anyone lookin for a couple of decent landbased st lures have a chuck with one of these Moggy23 used several different lures including a daiwa double clutch which seemed good as wellcheers 4THA

  6. after fishn with Mog and HSVLS19 and gettin sunburnt to the shit one arvo i was just about to fillet the snapper we'd just caught, any how keepin it short hsv smacked me on tha sun burn being dicks, :pinch: :pinch: so i muckin around underarmed the filleting knife in his direction and it stabbed and stuck into his wrist :blush: so he pulled it out still in shock and i drove him to the hospital for 4-6 stitches and mog ended up filleting tha fish  cheers 4THA

  7. hey justshoo dat cross fire is tha reel ya wanna be usin for tha kg's m8 as for rod choice i'm with southie the samaki range has some killer sticks but my go to whiting rod now doubles as my snapper rod the t-curve lucanus light :silly: :silly: stick ya saros on one of these and ya gotz da multi purpose combo B) cheers 4THA

  8. about 2 weeks ago Moggy23 and myself popped into tha scene and had a browse around and came across a range f rods called "carrot stix" woven nano fibres from actual carrots.next it will be nano fibres from our catch  here's a copy of some info i found on it from the net. To manufacture a Carrot Stix nano-bio-fibers are extracted from carrots. These strong, flexible fibers are added to E21's bonding matrix to create a super strong bio-polymer, which is used in the creation of their ultra high modulus graphite blanks. This results in an incredibly light yet strong and responsive blank that lends itself to diverse applications and techniques. Another piece of cutting edge technology used in the creation of the “Carrot Stix” is Element 21’s stress-free design analysis program. This program allows us to create a blank that is evenly stressed from tip to butt by identifying areas that are over-stressed and allowing these to be re-designed before mandrels are ever made. This reduces the risk of potential rod failure as well as affording a blank that is able to utilize its full mechanical potential due to the even distribution of stress along the entire blank. So what does all of this rocket science have to do with fishing? Well, consider a rod that is extremely light, can cast a country mile, so sensitive you can tell a beer can from a branch, and still allows you to place your lure right on the nose of some unsuspecting fish. That is the “Carrot Stix” experience!these rods wouldnt be any good for AFF though, with all tha wabbits he has wunning awound :P:P:P cheers 4THA
