why not just get an electric reel. cant see you stripping one of them. no offence but i find winching fish in boring. ten lb braid and 30lb leader is the go for me on my lil saltist bayrubber rod. 2500r luvias. now thats fun. but hey. each to there own my mate whos a pro out from prahan uses handlines and still dominates :)goood luck

11.5 kg red out of wallaroo. the reddog used all its nouse to do me but pulled her up. tide was raging and was a decent swell and breeze to contend with. shuano was suprised my rig even got the big dog up after he inspected haha. fair to say my knots are a bit better and rigging a bit tidier these days second was 75cm red on a lucanus on a luvias 2500r. ten lb braid. best fun ever. third a 12.5 kg southern blue. way to much gear for it to get away but it smashed the skirt before the boat was moving and bail arm closed in front of me face. epic

A dip in the water fixed em up pretty quick haha.

Well. ive been lazy. but heres some reports :)FIshed ards for opening day of the season. things started of slowly at ground one.then after that shocking effort. kgw on 5/0s shouldnt happen. we moved to ground two.andthat was the end of that day. the next day we went to the bhp jetty cause it was a bit rough and anchored up outside it where the ship parks. mate having told the boss he wasnt coming in decided it was funny if we fished for the cameras up there.both fishing fairly light 4lb braid and leader we managed some of these.and thesethat was it for that trip :)next trip was out north. int
