  2. sorry Kingsley, I may have worded that wrong.I check the weather daily for work reasons & find some may say 10 knots and willy will say 20. Check 2 hours later and they are then similar. It may be just to do with when they are scheduled for their updates.

  6. have seen what Bigmac suggested on TV and it worked!when I worked as a maintenance fitter my mates had me slicing stainless round bar on an angle, polishing and drilling for them to use on the west coast. Must have worked as they kept coming back for more & always had heaps of fish. Not a cheap option unless the Govt still supplies the stainless.

  8. "super G" bought me a Mokijo collapsible extendable net from Anaconda. They are 30 something dollars but she got it on half price sale. Don't know quality as I haven't had to use it yet.

I missed some of the discussion with a professor this morning but what I caught was -marine parks & no fish zones basically dont do anything as there have been 429 introduced species into Aust waters and NO losses to extinction.The worst problems are urban pollution, pests brought in by shipping ballast water and live imports of exotic speciesLand parks are different because this is to stop strip clearing of the habitat of animals/birds etc for farming/development etc and there has been 49 species of animals/mammals & birds lost.FISHING DOESNT REQUIRE CLEARING OF HABITATShope some of y

  13. I remember as a kid in the 70's the shack road at Port Augusta on friday afternoons & evenings every second car had a trailer behind it full of fridges,car bodies, tyres etc. Wish I had taken more notice of where they went.

  15. thanx for the report 4THAI have never chucked a lure at anything yet but have a couple of hard body shiny pretty blingy lures in my tacklebox and never thought I would ever use them. Didnt want to look like a goose not knowing what I'm doing but you have kindled my interest.Time for this old fella to "google" and try to learn something new

  18. google "filleting Flathead". I found a video of how to do it. Leaves a "Y" shaped fillet not 1 bone in it. Yum Yum
  19. nice U4Loff topic but I dont do gardening as I drove a garden fork through my foot pinning me to the ground as a kid - trip to hospital still have scardont hang out washing as I cut off both index fingers climbing old clothesline as a kid - trip to hospital to have them sewn back on still have scars
