  3. one other point to add too brentons is to remember they are a weed magnet due to being just a weight with trebles so fish them just off the bottom if theres weed were your fishing.... p.s. there is a good article in the latest South Oz Angler mag regarding the use of blades....cheers snake

  10. was a pretty lean summer for me and because all my fishing is landbased had to work hard for minimal catches, but the highlights were definatly the whiting on poppers had some great sucess on these tasty little morsals and didnt spend a cent on baits etc. just 1 lure used the whole summer!! cheers snake p.s. congrats on your efforts though jack u did pretty well mate
  11. i prefer new moon when targeting mulloway they tend to come in closer too shore and with the full moon alot more of those shitty fish such as rays, fiddlers, crabs etc tend to be more prevalent.. my 2cents worth!!
  12. nice fish mate i reckon nudging 20lb for sure
  13. i have just one question regarding crab nets on porties jetty, does this law only affect baited crab nets as i like catching drummer from this jetty and have used these nets as a means of lifting the drummer onto the jetty without hurting the fish for release or is this a no-no activity aswell
  14. ive caught big salmon on a remote beach over W.A. in nothing but wetsuit boots, yep you read it right, wetsuit boots totally nube except for the boots!! very liberating!!
  15. with all the cash you boaties spend on ramp fees, rego etc you would think they could spend some of that cash on some kind of fenced of area to park your vehicles when fishing over night maybe with a couple of security cameras placed around the joint
  16. ha... i keep forgetting, aarron was on that trip, which isnt bad because even his dad forgot he took his son! i think he was around 9 years old and he was the one who took that photo(which after finding that pic recently dave and myself were dumbfounded about who took that pic) he also got absolutely pounded by a freak back wash from a huge wave while he slept on the sand fully clothed which must have sucked but that was ok cause i caught a mulloway!! sorry aarron lol
  17. would be more than happy to take you to yorkes for a mully fish when u have the spare time mate you will have plenty of time to prepare as oct. is the prime time over there
  18. hey jack your time will come and all those hours chasing that elusive ghost will be forgotten!! My start to catching a mulloway was a once in a lifetime experience not many people would have even dreamed possible!! It all came down to one thing and that is the great friendship i established with a true fishing legend "Dave Sheldon" who is the father of aarron who started this web site and locally known through the fishing store fraternity as the maggot man!! He took me under his wing many years ago when fishing to me was an obsession but slowly losing its charm with countless fishless sessions
  19. the topic i started a few weeks ago called "Daiwa braid is crap!!!" has a few comments regarding prefered braid amongst members, this might help ya answer your question.. cheers snake
  20. well the first thing to come to mind would be,"DAMN the wifey is cheating on me!!" and i would storm out the house, slamming the door behind me, start the now 4x4 trade-in and go pick up my new 21ft fishing machine on the way too the in-laws to give them the old "ive been waiting 10years to tell u your a .......!" and on the way to the drivethru to purchase a dozen bottles of blue label scotch i would phone the lovely wife to see if she needed anything from the shop and while im getting bread and thrush lotion would buy her flowers and live happy ever after the end
  21. that gar is gonna look damn tasty too a 30lb snapper looking for a decent feed!!! awesome bait!! well done fellas

  23. not sure but i can't see a problem with it, would be great seeing a yak fisherman with rods hanging out everywhere, sounder and all the gizmos cruising around the torrens! pretty sure you would get a few smartarse comments thrown your way but would be great fun!! think u should look into legalities before u give it a go first...cheers snake
  24. i'm gonna give this sunline a go i reckon, cheers fellas
  25. daiwa tournament braid 4Lb for $75 bucks is crap!!! constantly knots up, always twisting around end of rod, horrible abrasive feel to it and even snapped line after casting a light HB lure!!!! will stick to the cheaper Suffix in the future, never had as many problems and half the price!!! not happy daiwa!!!
