Is Travel an Issue? If so go for a Tcurve Travel Revolution I reckon the 7 ft 5 - 19 kg model would do you well! Stop anything Salty Barra, Queenies, Cod, and even the Trevas.Aswell as that the Starlo Stixs are great rods. Super Light, but built tough! 20 - 30lb Braid and a 4000 Stradic. Dude you will have some killer fun! TT

Haha TT...all fair points.I have the soft plastics, that's why i have the s factor. Had seen a number of fishing shows tout it's benfits for squidding so decided to try it out on a jig. Both rods identical-El cheapo boss rods, reels both 2500 seinnas, line 10 lb trilene clear mono, both rods mounted off the back of boat. Water clarity was clear. I watched many squid go for both jigs which btw were 2 dollar red head white bodied cloth items, the squid would back off from the s factor jig. It did get hook ups but under half the amount of the non s factor jig. Both jigs attached via snap swivel. While not a study one would publish findings of, it was enough to convince me that buying s factor for squid was money wasted.

They both have to their own better departments over eachother!I think broken down this how it goes. Note: This is only my personal opinion.Light/Bream Spin Reel = Daiwa.Light/Bream Rod = ? + Others.Medium Offshore ie. Snapper Reels = ShimanoMedium Offshore ie. Snapper Rods = Shimano.Surf Rods and Reels = Shimano.Fly Reels and Rods = Not that I would pick either of these Brands but Shimano.Overhead included Baitcaster Reels. = Shimano.Overhead included Baitcaster Rods = Shimano.Game Rods and Reels = Shimano.Jig Rods and Reels/ Popping = Shimano/Daiwa?Lures = Daiwa.Line = Diawa.Accessories = Shimano.Thats just my opinion I love both brands and think that they are the best brands in the world! Personally I think Daiwa will make you look good and give you awesome finesse. But Shimano gives you all grunt!Brands and Gear are only restricted buy what you want to use them for! They are both the Bees Knees!Cheers TT

    Hey mate!
As regards to what IFISH use that is a Towcam. That will set you back around $2800. So thats off the list!If you want good photos, video and a cheap price I don't think you can look past the Olympus Tough Range and from that the TG - 810 Model! 720p HD Video, 14 Megapixels and completely waterproof. The Lumix Range is also very good but a bit out of the price range. And remember till then I am still happy to shoot for you TT

I think it basically comes down to three main things.1. Direct Contact with Lure and Bottom at all times.2. Paddle Tail plastics or anything with an inbuilt action!3. Slow it down with rolls and hops instead of burns and flicks! If you know what I mean :cheer: If I had to choose I am flicking with these:1. 70mm Squidgy fish Silver Fox and Black Gold.2. Squidgy Mongrel Boof Mullet.3. 110mm Squidgy Shad in White Lightning. And for any more information Here is a video you might want to watch:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGtrUmmZHYgCheers as always TT. I love this type of thread, when Mulloway gurus like Jack & snapperhead (+ others) give little insights into some of their successful fishing techniques. I read it, take it in, and if I get the chance I will test out some of the theories. :f The video show a slightly different technique, one that would seem slightly more logical than a Mulloway taking Soft Plastics off the bottom, but from my limited Bream and SP experiences that’s exactly what the Bream do! IMHO it’s what fishing is all about, learning and trying different techniques and then personally nailing a particular fish with a specific technique, but until then it’s just theories, myths and rumours. Cheers for the video TT97 and nice fish NickMav.

Well I am primarily Landbased so I cannot Comment on Deep Water but as I practice Catch and Release 99% of where I go I have a few General Rules.1. Wet Hands! The fish have a protective slime that the Human Coarse hands wipe away with ease.2. Brag Mats. Not only are they fish measuring devices they also protect the fishes skin from such Substances as Concrete etc. Make sure they are wet though sometimes on a Hot Day that Plastic does more harm than good.3. Hook Selection. Other than Hard Bodies all Lures and Baits are Singles or Circles. One for the cleaner hook up rate but also less damage down to the fishes body i.e. Mouth, Flanks etc. Manages for Quick Release.4. Pliers. You will not know unless you use them how much quicker they much unhooking!5. Comfort Lifting. Support the Belly!! How many photos I see of fish upside down! Quickest way to break its neck especially with heavy fish. Plus in my opinion it makes for better Photos!6. Release techniques. Unless from High Areas or in especially oxygenated water ie the Surf Beaches (Where you can spear them for a hit of Oxygen). Swim your fish! Don't flop them over the side.Wait for those flicks against your hold of their tail and then when ready a pinch of the tail and a strong push. Just watch the Catch and Release Snapper Photos. That will show you. There you go thats my list and I have attained some very strong Release Rates. I love a fresh feed of Fish. But remember just like Golf. "You don't have to eat the Ball, to have a good time!Cheers and Tight Lines TT

Spose the river may be a bit different as in depth shouldn't be a factorBut I myself will not lift a big cod (20+lbs) out of the water .Now I love to eat Callop more than any other fish ...squid still top them...But any Callop I catch over 44cm goes back My rule is ...Hold your breath when you take a fish out the water When you need another breath ...The fish needs flowing water through its gillsI fish to feed me and my family and will take what is legal to take. But at the same time try to look after our big breedersI love upper size limits for freshwater
