HB tragic reacted to Rybak in Be careful tackle rats
Ray & Annes is pretty good as well as Port Adelaide Bait & tackle. SFS are really knowledgeable especially when Yatsey is there.

Was painting up some more trout lures tonight and i stuffed the paint job on one of them. So instead of throwing it away i painted over it completely with black paint. Then decided to think outside the box...
Grabbed some pearl paint and well the photo speaks for itself. Well i think anyway 👌
So it is opaque black as the base. Pearl green top. With an pearl Magenta body and gold stripes...
I recko this will be one colour ill paint as one i will sell

HB tragic reacted to Meppstas in COARONA VIRUS AND US
It's sad to hear of so many people losing their jobs around the country, thankfully in my case I'm well over the retiring age (74) and still in pretty good health apart from lower back & hips being on the poor side the rest is okay.. I'm still heading off to the rivers for a spin session as well, I never see anyone else on them at the best of times either, so yes all good down this way for now.. Let's hope there's a cure for this virus in the very near future and everything gets back on track once it's over which will take some time to do so. When that will be who knows but let's hope it's sooner than later for everyone's sake.. stay safe & well everyone... thinking of you all back there in good ol' South Australia..
cheers

I lost my job due to my brain injury back in 2015 can’t find paid work . I will not defend Centrelink but at this time they are doing their best . I’ve had Centrelink issues cut off due to their error but back on Newstart. Sorry to everyone who has lost their job but be unemployed over 55 there are zero jobs in Adelaide. Now Wert if you think Centrelink is bad wait until you see a job provider in my case I’m with a disability employment service I heard every second meeting we will cut you off of Newstart various reasons main one attending the industrial court for my court case .
so while Centrelink isn’t great get ready job providers are worse
plus there’s no jobs for over 55s in Adelaide
And I was lucky to escape Nazi DES workers I took Centrelinks advice and volunteered for Newstart my age group 55 to 65 volunteer for 15 hours a week no need to look for jobs that aren’t there or go to meetings every two weeks or do another useless 12 month course . I was enjoying my volunteering job until they shut shop due to the virus

The great thing about painting your own lures is you can create your own style and colours... Been messing around with a few different patterns and styles just perfecting my painting skills and styles...
This photo doesn't do justice on how good this actually looks. This is an semi transparent Rainbow trout pattern that i will be rolling with when selling a few lures. I'll be looking at transparent redfin pattern and brown trout pattern aswell for the dams and creeks in SA.
This pattern is for HB tragic he asked me to paint for awhile. Now that i finally have a cleat Im happy with and a paint scheme i was satisfied with. once its finished mate ill hit you up.
This one is an 120mm sinking stickbait in an transparent pearl blue, pink and silver top. This lure looks so dam porn in the flesh!
Hoping to give a couple to some guys chasing Tuna.
These last ones are just a couple small chubby lures i painted in random colours thinking they wouldn't swim well. But actually swam straight from the get go...
Ill use these for reddies in the winter

HB tragic reacted to Softy in What is your go to leader knot?
Hey all,
So what leader knots are you using? I thought mine was an Improved Albright but after some reading into it, it is the Alberto Knot. While i've not really had any issues with knot strength, having the leader tag end pointing forwards thru the guides really chits me.
So what are you using?
Quick pic of one I just tied. 8lb fluro to 15lb braid.

HB tragic got a reaction from Softy in What is your go to leader knot?
At present happy with the results I get with the Improved Albright (alias Alberto) for strength and glide through the guides. Certainly much better than the Surgeons knot (3 turn) I was using. I tie my braid/leaders at home and carry 2-3 spare spools (1 is straight through fluro) which helps as much as possible to negate tying on the run. Regards HBt.
