    My fav setup at the moment is my Daiwa Luvias 701 LFS-R 4-8lb rod with Luvias DA 2500R loaded with Sunline PE 8lb. Also Daiwa Infeet Blue Backer BJ661XHS 8-20lb rod with same Luvias DA 2500R (other spool) loaded with Daiwa Sensor 20lb or Daiwa Fuego 3000A loaded with Daiwa Tournament 8Daiwa Tournament S 6-10kg rod with Daiwa Fuego 3000A or Daiwa Ballistic 2500SH

    Halco Twisty and anything Halco chrome metal but also a big fan of the Duel Adagio lures.

    What we found is that they'll have a decent look and sometimes have a go at squid strips/tentacles unweighted. Use at least 2-3m of flourocarbon leader too as I'm convinced they shy away when they can see the line and hook.Is very frustrating though when you can almost reach over the side of the boat and grab one by the tail

    Find any area with weed from Largs to Marino. We've consistenly bagged out between Glenelg and Brighton jetties approx 0.5- 1.0Km from beach.Best jigs to use imo are Yo-zuri Orange (YSD), Bright Green and Shimano White ghost in 3.0 or 3.5 size. Gan Craft in Blood Red and Sumizoku in Gold are pretty deadly too!

    When fishing landbased for reds I'll use a running 'O' ring on the mainline then tie 6-10lb mono from this to the sinker so if the sinker snags you'll break it away fairly easily without losing your whole rig. If using paternoster rig then tie length of light line below bottom hook to sinker for the same reason.
