  1. Anyone willing to share there best camping spots on the coast around port Lincoln coffins bay area that is also a good fishing spot. One of my favourites is September beach nice little camp area behind a bit of a sand dune out of the wind and a short walk to beach or rock fishing with plenty of friendly kangaroos that drop past for a visit

  2. Mate I was looking for a surf combo last year was willing to pay up to 350 then I found a nice okuma egg beater combo for $160 brand new ummm and rrrrrrr about it and thought stuff it ill give it a go with a good warranty on it cant be to bad and it has been great caught heaps of big salmon up the west coast and smashed some eagle rays on it drag has held up well and I am happy I bought it. I cant give you the exact details on it as I am on barrow island working at the moment but let me know if you are interested and when I get home I can give you the details so you can check it out.

  3. Just looking for some advice on snapper in coffins bay apparently you can catch them along the ledge opposite the boat ramp running down to seal corner has anybody caught any snapper over there and if so whats the best time of year how deep or close the ledge do you fish ?any advice /info would be great I know you get the kingfish along the same area at certain times of the year also

  4. My little fella got a chance to try out his ugly stick we got him for Christmas last week when we took him up the west coast. We got a bit of berley going and the fish responded nicely he caught a couple of wrass a dozen big tommies 4 decent trevally and a nice KGW we had a great evening he totally enjoyed it especially when he hooked the trevallys each and everyone nearly pulled the rod out of his hand with line peeling out. I think he is hooked now and I have a new fishing partner

  5. I have caught many garfish at night even off of the largs jetty and usually they are bigger fish just a tiny berley stream going I used to wrap duct tape around my berley pot so only one line of the slots would let berley through and then get my float way back in the stream to avoid the tommies. Can I also suggest very short trace so the the bait is very close to the surface I live in port Lincoln now and I hit the gar there at night and I use a pencil float with hook attached to line straight after the float so bait is only 6 or 8 inches below surface the gar feed right on the surface at night. Good luck

  6. i have caught plenty of mully's on tommies in the port but only live baiting they seem to be one of the tuffest fish for live bait along with salmon trout which I have also caught plenty of fish on believe it or not even a live shitty will work well on mully's in the port

  7. Yeah mate i got one at the start of the year for the yellow fin whiting and we have had a great season of YFW this winter in port lincoln and i am very impressed with the rod i caught dozens of fish on it and am happy with it. I got mine for 23 dollars bidding on it not a buy now item but it cost 15 for delivery still not a bad deal

  8. Looking for some tips on fishing down at red banks just out of arno bay has anyone had a go down there ive fished at red banks before off the rocks but apparently there is a track off to the left that takes you through a couple of gates along the coast and down on to the beach any info would be great has any one had any luck down there ive seen some photos of some nice bronzies that have been caught down there there to any help would be great. Cheers

  9. was fishing on the port lincoln town jetty for some YFW yesterday afternoon when i bloke brought to my attention that the ruddy great ship that was tied up to the wharf was the super trawler here in town to fill up on fuel before heading down towards tassie to rape our oceans its huge and i still cant beleive its in our waters someone should have fueled it up with contaminated fuel or something anything to stop it

  10. Went down to do a bit of YF whiting fishing on tuesday and a mate came down with his brother whilst i was catching a few we were chatting away about different fish and the subject of tuna came up and how i had lived in Pt Lincoln for nearly ten years and not caught one.Mates brother says to me do you do you want to have a go at them tomorrow i'll take you out thought you beauty met at the boat ramp the next morning at six and after just over a hour we were at his spot so in went the berley followed by baits. My third bait was just drifting down in the deep blue when WHAM i was on this thing took off like a small train and after just under 30min we put the gaff in a 23kg tuna it was only half hour after that and i was on again this one just under 20kg what a buzz
