  1. Yea AFF, I was fishin with two other mates. I only had the sabre/saltist, game outfit on the left and the saltwater
  2. I would recommend the 6500 S-Extreme or the S-Xtreme Maverick (High Speed) as it comes standard with carbontex drag washers. Saltigas are bullet proof. A lot of guys prefer to run high speed reels for popping and Low speed (Expedition, S-xtreme) etc for jigging. Although it comes down to personnel preference. For rods have a look at the new PE 10 or 12 Livefibre Venom. Awesome stick and the PE 12 will deadlift 45kg block of cement. Come with full silicons etc
  3. Haha should be right in a Black magic or Braid Harness. What rod are you running it with?
  4. Haha have you got a portable game chair?
  5. I hope your chasing big sharks if ur using an 80w
  6. I normally use the improved Albright, double UNi or "leader" knot. I think the leader knot is on Geoff Wilsons book or DVD. Really neat and use it for luring. It's great because the knot is used with a Bimini
  7. The guys use heaps of then over in the US for landbased Tigers, hammers etc. They give great reports bout them.
  8. A guy I know bought one of the game reels and he stripped the gears winding in a piece of weed:boot:
  9. They are pretty good apparently, feature auto two speed. I know some people who have caught some stomper kingies on them. Give it a go and see what you think
  10. I just know a few guys who runs charters off NSW and friends that have used them over greenly haven't been impressed with them and have had a lot of problems with them
  11. I wuldnt be using a saragosa for kings that's for sure
  12. For kings you need quality tackle or you will get blown away. You are better off buying well known brands. Reels like the Daiwa 6500 Catalina, saltist are gd reels without spending the $$. With Saltiga being the best spinning reel on the market it will cost you a bit $$$. 50 pound braid will be fine chucking lures or livebaiting with my favorite brands being tuffline, suffix 832, fins and any of the sensor, saltiga or accudepth etc
  13. Hi guysI havent posted a thread for a while so I thought I would chuck up a picture of the School shark I caught last night. Was over 6ft. After arriving at a location down south. I baited up the 6500 S-xtreme and threw her out. After getting a decent burley trail going, the reel was spewing out 50pound braid. After setting the hooks it hit second gear doing continous massive head shakes and constant quick runs. When I had it in closer the oldman shined the light and we seen the orange relfection of its eyes and seen a solid 6ft plus schoolie. After a few pictures we let her go to fight anoth
  14. I would be getting the sensor surf. Much lighter and more sensitive. The heavy 13 or 16fter would match nicely to a 760. The sensor is a great rod and its worth spending a few extra $
  15. 2BS got the box for it aswel
  16. Tuffline, Saltiga Surf, Td Sensor and Suffix Performance and 832
  17. oops:laugh: Accidently pressed thankyou on Gonefishn posts
  18. The reels are English Nottinghams, made in the 1930s. Made by Milwood Bartleet and sons in Redditch, England. They were availble by quite a few Australian Tackle shops. In that condition not worth a great deal, up to $100 each. Look great on display
  19. Love my Saltiga Surf B) . The Spinfishers are bullet proof, probaly cast a bit better then the Offshores. Go for the spinfisher over the slammer....
  20. haha Twinpower  , bout the only shimano I use haha:laugh:
