  1. This is completely normal, both Tiagra and Inters ratchet works on a pin moving in and out of holes on a plate mounted to the inside of the spool. You'll find when it's stuck or seized as you described the pin is directly in the hole and when it's easy to pull out it's sitting between 2 and easily moves in and out at speeds. Hope this helps. Completely different system to your standard TLDs, Abu's. If you want a pic let me know
  2. I was just referring to Giles, Wallies be open all the way..
  3. Go the luvius mate , fantastic reel! super smooth and very light!. Caught heaps of big sambos, snapper... Perfect reel for what you have described...
  4. My favourite would have to be my Penn Inter 80VSW on a Sabre 6455XXH and my 3500HD Certate on a 6-15kg Texy
  5. I've found that most people use higher ratio reels for high speed spinning and poppering. Lower ratio reels for jigging and bottom work... Id go a lower ratio reel... S-Extreme, Expedition etc
  6. Deffinately not a wholesaler, seen a lot cheaper prices at other tackle shops down that way. Alot of there stuff is Chinese rubbish anyway!

  9. We do not care what any of the locals or Surflife savers say. Us sharkers are allowed to shark when, where we like. Whether it is off a jetty, beach, rocks or where ever. We are going to fish no matter what. It has never been any issue!. You can try to run over our lines call the cops. At the end of the day we are allowed to do it. If we want to shark off jetties we will! doesnt matter if we have $50 outfits or $2000 outfits we wil target sharks. Luring the sharks?? they are already there, maybe tell the sharks to stop coming in close to feed and drop there pubs?? The Surflife savers, locals a
  10. Also check out the finnor offshore 9500, holds 600m of 80pound braid and have over 20kg drag. Depending if your beach or jetty based normally 8-12ft rod. Minimum rating of 10-15kg with 15-24kg ideal. I use a spin reel without the live liner system and haven't had any problems
  11. You should get 700-800 of 50, really depends on the line diameter, how much you fill it and how tight its wound in.
  12. If its to good to be true....its to good to be true
  13. Can't go past the saltiga surf, excellent reel. I use it down salt creek, fwc, YP beaches. It's caught some big mullies, sharks and rays on it. Casts a mile matched to the ballistic or sensor. It holds around 600 of 50. Best out of the reels you have mentioned

  15. I'm on Telstra and always get coverage 98% of the time. mates I have fished with who have vodaphone, 3 etc dot get it! Annoying Telstra don't have a great range of plans
  16. A nice big bronzie and jewie ... Hopefully
  17. I use the Daiwa Sensor and fins for under 10 pound. Both are very good and for big stuff 50-80pound can't go past Tuffline. It's real strong and good abrasion resistance. I recenty used 50 pound fins on my saltiga and was faultless for Tuna. The new suffix 832 looks very impressive aswel.
  18. Got my copy today Another good read
  19. Caldia anyday Of the week, awesome reel....
  20. Agree with sambo, sensors are awesome sticks. I have thrown 5-6oz leads with a big livies down Salties no worries. If you have the $$ the Saltiga Ballistic are an awesome rod! Cast weight is up to 10 ounces and it doesnt have a backbone so you can fish spin or O/H on it. Slayed some mega rays, sharks down Salties with it aswel as some mullies!
  21. Hi guysI went for a drive down Sellicks Beach for a look and to see if anyone was catching any samnbos. With a big tide and no beach to drive on I parked in the car park and had a look both ends. After looking twice I noticed there was a commodore bogged and taking in water . After a laugh I ran down for a look. With two ropes tied to the car. The wash was slowly dragging it out with the waves going over the bonnet . The pictures says it all Bad quailty photos from my phone
  22. I run a 315 sea jigger with a 3500HD certate for luring. Awesome outfit nice and light and throws a 50gram lure a mile. For bait I use a TD Surf with a 4500 Saltiga Surf. I haven't had any issues with the speed of retrieve for luring. The 3500 does the job without tiring after numerous casts.
  23. I fill a ice cream container with warm soapy water, wipe the reel over thoroughly with a damp not to wet towel or rag.I take the spool off wipe over the rotor. Then I toothbrush Over the reel. Repeat this a few times. Then i dry it with a towel. After a few trips I'll put a drop of oil down the rotor and the handle bearings.
