  1. I have fished with people that have only ever used Fibre Glass rods, once they cast with a Graphite they are hooked on it. As you said Komodo, Telescopics get a bad rap here as most are of poor quality IMO. They get sand inside, stop retracting, Snap way too easily and have poor actions all round. The shop in Victor, that is exciting. I would imagine placed around Granite island and the bluff you would get some serious inflow through summer. Good luck with it, will be sure to pop in once you have it running.
  2. Over the course of the last 2 weeks (School Holidays) we have caught 48 Carp from the Goolwa Area. All carp were caught during 4, 2 to 3 hour sessions.Gear Used included: A Shimano Catana/Sienna 2-4kg combo, Shimano Siedo with 2-4kg Shimano RTS ($30 Kmart), Abu Sonic Stix 2-4kg with cheapest Shimano Rear Drag reel and an Abu Muscle tip 3-6kg with an Abu cardinal Reel.Lines used were all either 8 or 10 Pound Mono. Biggest carp landed went 73cm and 6kg with another 4 weighing in at 4kg-5kg. We had one cracker session in which we pulled 20 carp in 2 hours. We went to check out a little jetty so
  3. I like those for yabbies and the Collapsible Rectangular Prism with the fine mesh for shrimp.
  4. A surface lure but looks really realistic.
  5. ^ Saw that to, I just said to myself "He just Killed That Fish". Should have just had a photo and let her back in, stop stuffing around.
  6. Lee is the best presenter I have seen, very down to earth. The thing with the other hosts, I think it comes down to personalities. They need to be a bit showy and do "Funny" Things as when Paul Worsteling was at the boat show he said something like "70% of our viewers don't fish".I think because they have to be "Show Ponys" once you have seen the same Tail wave or the phrase "Wrong Town" over 10 times, it's terrible.
  7. How do you find the Revo Smokey? Had a Feel in BCF and they were crazy light.
  8. Siennas are good for the money but like Pauly S I think the Symetre is the best reel I have. It is a delight to use and is so freakishly light/smooth. My mate fishes with a Catana/Sienna combo and it is easily sufficient for what you want it to do.
  9. Well, If The Pelagic Hypafin is Really the same reel as the Diablo, I got a 2000 for $50.00 :woohoo:If you read the Diablo Review it says they are Just OEM reels with a new Paint Job and Handle Knob.
  10. I would Imagine Port Nourlunga to be in with a shot. River mouth down the beach and a fringing reef surrounded with baitfish.
  11. That's Crazy FishNuts! Did you pull many on your olive green Mulloway Fly? Would be great to get such Prestige Sports fish on your own flies. Also, Anything in S.A to compare a Bonefish fight with? I have always imagined a KG X ST Kind of feel.
  12. Have seen some Mid range snapper pulled up on a 4000 sized sienna.Recently bought a Penn Slammer 560 Live liner for $80. Fantastic reel but they are being phased out for the Spinfisher series.
  13. Trimmer Parade = Bower Road?I have seen enough reports to say there are always Kg's in west lakes
  14. ^ So true, My first time on Ards a HUGE school of mulloway swam under for a good 20-30 minutes. I jigged all kinds of soft plastics, Halco Twisties and woblers in the middle of the school for nothing. The 1 bloke who had been there earlier had a few tommies still live in his bucket. Bang, Bang, Bang 3 Mulloway in a few minutes on the opposite side of the jetty to me.
  15. Same.If they had a good action to them I would have a look but for 1 dollar I don't know how good the action would be.Edit: A link to the site they are on could work.
  16. ^ Interested as well. Like to see things in the flesh rather than by over internet.
  17. Fished from 9:45am until 3:50pm today for trout and redfin. Would have covered about 3km of casting and only got 1 30cm reddie the whole time. Would still be there now if the phone hadn't gone flat.
  18. I just can't imagine some body diving down and tying a thrashing Mako shark to a bouy? Even thinking "Yeah I could get Jaws' cousin bound and drowned without hassle" is ludicrous. I think a failed tail rope attempt could be the culprit to brenton.
  19. Aussie Salmon. So many ways o fish for them, so many different fights they can give. You can make the fishing as frantic or as laid back as you like. High speed poppers, Metals, Soft Plastics and Baits all work.
  20. There was a ray on the right hand side there a week ago. Could be the same one?Somebody thought it was another washed up dolphin and went into a full on panic. Does not sit well with the public eye.
  21. A lot of new shark fishing laws metro during the day time. Watch out for it.Somebody will have in depth details on the situation. I think great whites are protected aswell.
  22. Pretty light drag, Bait runner style. Was surprisingly hard to pull in, It twisted my line like hell though.
  23. Nah, Took 1 of my lines out of the water and used it (Bread Bag) like a kite. It caught so much wind it took of and spooled me.
  24. Squidgy Flick Bait in Evil Minnow. Various Jig head weights will cast anywere
  25. Fished for Carp down Goolwa for carp during the 3 Windiest days of the year. 7 hours fishing for 2 carp.Got bored and hooked a bread bag onto the end of my 12 pound mono........ Got spooled.
