  5. Soft plastics dont last long flyfished,There is specific gel baitfish flies made for flyfishingWill take a lot more punishmemntI've used pink baitedbreath flies on convetional gear and nailed some ripper bream when they wouldnt take anything else. There is a number of flies with weighted eyes, clousers, baited breaths, crazy charlies, weighted nymphs, etc that can be cast and will outfish most lures on salmon. When snapper or salmon fishing you could even use clousers or deceivers on paternoster rigs as your hooks, bait them up, if u get baited theres a good chance they'll come back and nail t
  6. Nice fish congrats the pb
  7. On our first tuna adventure we where told all sorts of things about this has to be better than that. This was the only skirt that worked etc etc etc You know the story Any way we bought the bees knees skirts and the bee knees divers. With the flash skirts and the divers out there the tuna hit a fly which was pretty much some pink material on a hook. Bugger all bubble trail nothing, just some pink cloth on a hook. It nailed our best fish. If you find the tuna most of the time I reckon they'll nail anything GL
  8. you lucky Q#%$%#$^#$#$^
  9. Generally More moon less lice, less moon more lice. They are sand critters so fishing paternoster and getting the bait off the bottom helps a lot.

  11. Lovely fly Daz, I reckon its hard to beat the good old pink baited breath in dirty water.
  12. I used to be a member,Excellent facilities, great bunch of members. Excellent social aspect. If you predominantly fish St Kilda, the barker and the Port well worth it. Great value and piece of mind having your car locked up especially for those late night mully seshs'
  13. Was going to suggest lead bonzai wire. You could just tie it in.You could also bend the eye of the hook so barb and eye are both horizontal then slightly bend the eye up. ala Bruce Brown flies. Fishermans paradise stocks Bruce Brown flies. Im sure he would have some there you could look at. Some of the flies Ive got from Bruce Ive had for about ten years and they still havent pulled apart. Made to last
  14. Theres some trophy trout in the humble Adelaide Hills Best Ive seen I estimated WELL into dbl figuresA mate and I thought it was a log from a tree before we realised it was a trout. If snapperheads no expert what does that make the rest of us Kingies on a 5# in SA gives u expert status in my book mate

  16. What happened to the gps marks section ?
  17. I've used a bream almost 38 cm for bait and nailed a 50lb mullie. Lotta little snaps around one of my mullie spots too cant see why it would'nt work
  18. Sincere apologise Mr 1 fish and Mr Rollcast,Given the size of the fish and the spots on the browny I was so sadly mistaken. Happy fishn in Creeky Twig
  19. Spot looks familiar, If its private property in SA u gotta get permishWont refuse but its nice to ask first
  20. I think Mick from Micks winches sells em on his sitehttp://www.mickswinch.com.au/
  21. Personally I dont like circle hooks,I prefer suicide style hooks, always use two hooks for mulloway, massive difference in hook up rate. Agree with Surf generally larger fish tend to hook themselves, simply engage the reel and wait for the rod to double over, usually mullies hit the turbo button at this stage. How soon you strike would depend on hook and bait size, half a pilly on a 4/0 you could strike asap,Legal bream with two 10/0s in it may wanna give it some extra time.
  22. Your amazing Dazz,Nice kingy shauno
