  1. I started a riot a while back when I first asked for the marks to the Claris off glenelg on a website. The mere mention of the 'claris' sent the w/beach fishes into a state of shock.I didnt get it,.... I was frustrated that no-one would share the marks. Seeing whats happened to claris and one or two other now well known grounds I can understand why .....................Not trying to start another riot, BUT,I reckon until you've been thru the process of seeing one of your best most productive grounds turned into a desert. Your probably not ready to be given the marks to a spot x. You can argue a
  2. Great looking flies Big D
  3. Cant miss the lighthouse ( whats left of it )its about 15 km straight out.Be careful there lots of exposed areas.
  4. Sorry Big MNever really tried myself, the fresh has always been monopolised by the trout. Once you sightfish big trouties on the surface on dries hard to go back to casting blind.BIG clousers and Deceivers, BRIGHLY coloured fluro colours should do ok on the yellowbelly and the cod if you know they are there. Have seen a mate tie a BRIGHT fluro spinner fly to use down at wentworth on the cod. No expert but super slow retrieve, with long pauses seems to be the go. I know of a few caught on various nymphs as bycatch. Hope that helps
  5. Congrats Robfish on catching your first fish on fly and on your first outing.Thats an awesome effort especially on bream not the easiest fish to catch on fly.Well done mate

No expert here I still havent sussed em out BUT,Definately seem to prefer clear water.
  9. As a starting point .....Crazy charlies will catch bream mullies and salmon. Chartruese will work on all,Pink baited breaths are a great first fly for bream. Sizes 4 to 6 are fairly popular.White / Blue profile clousers are a great starting point on the mullies. Sizes 2 - 2/0 fairly popular. Becareful casting these if you are a begginer, make sure you wear a hat. Its not uncommon to wear the odd fly in the back of the head. especially if its windy. Salmon will take anything once you locate them. We've caught salmon with white cotton wool crudely attached to a hook.Welcome to the site by

  17. Havent fished for em for probably over 25 years,BUT.......Have to agree with Mick,Early morning (first light) they used to go off on almost all the jetties. Especially HenleyLate rvo was also good especially if it coincided with a dusk High.Fish the shallows with a running rig, squid head slopline goes a long way too.
  18. A post sits unanswered for some time, you make the effort to assist the initial poster but also everyone else reading the thread and some chose to ..................Instead of thanks for the mark big Fin
  19. Not so good of the jetty but of the boat I like the little plastic pots u can buy.I usually cut a pillie up in 2/3 pieces, use at least 2/3 pillies per pot.Crabs cant resist pilly smell, add an extra pilly to the pot every 1/2 hour or so.Even fish heads, the smells good for about 45mins max. after that u still get crabs but they really taper off. Replace or replenish bait min at least every 45mins to 1 hr.
  20. When you've only got minutes to live ya may as well blow ya load.
