    Another top notch report Alex.
Bust offs are an unfortunate part of fishing.
Rest assured that big bream will get caught eventually, hopefully by you or your mates.
    Or hopefully by me...LOL

Headed to the yacht squadron yesterday with James and his mate. At the start, we didn't see a single fish besides some bream at the bottom. We sighted a few bluies and I snagged them on my lure. Later on, the garfish started to move in and we kept the burley going. This finally attracted some bigger ones, we used unweighted gents and got one cast after cast!!! They were on fire, it was so hectic I couldn't film most of it...

After about 2 hrs, they started to slow down and we ran out of gents. We used bread and got a few, James let his bread sink to the bottom and got some BIG bites! Finally something took his bait and ZZZZzzzzzzzz! He was onto something bigger! He pulled it up and it was a decent bream at 34cm! We started fishing for salmon trout afterwards with pilly cubes and caught many undersized ones... We caught a legal one amongst 3 undersized ones. The fights were great fun still

We moved on to target bream and burleied up lots with bread, we chucked our bread baits in and straight away we got some big bream bites. All of a sudden James' rod bends heaps and he strikes! It pilled out heaps of drag and then snapped... Seconds later, my rod did the same and it was the best bream fight of my life! Every second of the fight it was pulling out drag! James saw it when it went under some structure and you should've seen his face! IT WAS A MONSTER! It snagged me under some structure at the bottom and snapped me off.... James' said it was deffinately over 40cm and the fight was mad for me! I was silent for most of the time after I lost that bream.

On the good side we caught a nice bag with 80 gar, 7 st, 1 decent bream and 2 bluies. All land based out of the 3 of us!

Finally got onto my first mully today at the onk! Had a great fish with Kuerschner and Fishingmad! I landed 2 nice schoolies, one at 53cm and the other at 67cm. Small one on half a pilly and big one on a live st! Love the fights and I think I'm hooked on mully fishing now

Thanks to Josh and Leigh for helping me out! Really appreciate it guys!

I haven't been out the end of the breakwater at St Kilda for over 2 months, been targeting the breambos at the other end instead. Will be hitting up the stones at Outer Harbour over the weekend, so will throw out a few blades and vibes and see what jumps on.Hopefully this winter brings a good salmon season with it, last year was a bit average.

Love your work mate. That 40cm bream is just a cast away.Just make sure you tie good knots coz its gonna know every trick in the book and pull harder than a freight train. And I hope you enjoy every minute of the fight, coz 40+ breambos really get me grinning. What bait are you using, I still swear by fresh live bloodworms, they catch me more bream than any other bait.I just wish I could crack 44cm, been stuck on 43 for more than 12 months. By the way, really love the catch and release,

Try fishing off the stones at Snowdens Marina entrance.Use bloodworms for bait, or Z-Man grubs rigged lightly in motor oil colour to target some nice mid 30s bream.Outer Harbour has also been firing with good bream and snapper, though you will need to walk at least halfway along the rocks to find a honey hole that hasn't been over-fished.Fishermans Wharf at Nth Arm is also a good spot at certain times, as is the area under the new road and rail bridges.Focus on fishing structure for the best results.Other than that, going for a walk and flick of the SPs in West Lakes might be worth a try.

Fishing SA Feb/March 2014 is one of our best editions yet. Inside we have detailed features on Salt Creek mulloway, gummy sharks and salmon, far west coast mulloway, releasing fish better, offshore kingfish, making a live bait tank, silver perch and catching freshwater monsters. As usual we've also crammed in state-wide fishing reports, detailing all the tuna hot spots, and a stack of product reviews. It's a big mag with stacks of reading.Check out FSA 33! www.fishingsa.com.au

James and I finally set off to target mullies. First we were fishing for livies with little sps and bait but all of them were undersized. We kept fishing with sp for st and then the water stopped running. James casted his sp where the water was running and saw a huge silver flash which he thought was a massive salmon but it came back for the lure and fully engulfed it! James Screamed out MULLY! So I started filming.

Little Z-man grubs in motor oil have worked for me in the Port.If you ever get the chance to dig for live bloodworms, they are covered in a slime that scents any SPs nicely.Beats any artificial scent by a long mile.

As you all know, my new target was snook... First day targeting them, I caught 2!!! We went at sunset and caught 2 squid straight away. After those 2 squid, the bite had gone down. But I started getting a few hits on the little sp so I persisted. I saw some snook rising from the deep and them BANG! I saw a snook hit the lure! I landed it just as it spat the lure on the jetty. Pew... that was lucky  MY FIRST EVER SNOOK!!! Later on after the sun had set, I had one massive hit on the sp lure and this was a BIG FISH! It didn't take up much of a fight considering I had locked drag. I managed to land it on the jetty. I was so excited! I measured it and it was 64cm on the dot! WOW! I WAS SHOCKED... :woohoo: First day targeting my new species and sucess! This big snook had a scar on it's tail which I think might be from another snook or a shark? We ended the day with a nice feed.

Hey guys. As the tittle suggests, what is your best artificials bream? I personally have been unlucky with my biggest only at 37cm (x4) but I certain I will crack the 40 this summer. So let the picks roll in.All these are within the last 18 months, with the last two within November. My first legal lure bream, caught in the Glenelg. Back in the days of keeping them  Caught on vibe.Another from a Glenelg trip earlier this year. Caught on vibe. One from last month in the lakes, on plastic. One from a couple of weeks back, on vibe. So, lets see how many 50s we have out there. I know there will be a few, and hopefully they post the pics

Tinker reacted to King prawn in YFW - they REALLY DO like lures!
I'm sold guys! I hit Tennyson this morning at bottom of tide at 1030 , there were two massive schools of them cruising up and down the sand bars. I used the bassday orange and first cast they swarmed all around it and followed the lure all the way in! Second cast went straight overs the top and out the back of the school , jigging it through the school they went into a frenzy and smashed it ! This was the most fun ive had YFW fishing in years ! I also had a rod holder I've made sitting in the sand bar with another rod baited and sitting in the water , thanks to des's post( finessing) I followed the rig he posted.......THANKS DES! This rig worked a treat.. I've never been so busy fishing , if the baited rod wasn't bending the lure was being smashed... I was like a little child in a candy shop. I was amazed to actually see em jumping out of the water in the school .my first metro bag was had in 1 1/2 hours. I must say using my spotters was definitely helpful in first spotting them on arrival at the beach. I stayed on after my bag was reached trialling the clear bassday lure to less of an affect as yhe orange but still managed to land em. After two hours of fishing it was like school of fish went to lunch and disappeared never to return again the rest of the Arvo . Any how it's fair to say YFW on lures..............BLOODY OATH!!! Now to somehow wipe the smile off of my face. This little camper will definitely be back tommorrow .... After he puts in a split system for his mate..... Boooooooo

Absolutely loving this thread.Reminds me of the time we chased a school up and down the beach near Suicide Point just over a year ago.All we had to do was cast out, catch a fish, cast out, catch a fish etc.Only kept 10 between us out of over 50 caught.Wasn't anything over 4kg though, just heaps of salmon. And good timing.
