Carps, we have 100% tuna oil, was fortunate enough to stitch up a deal & secured 400litres from Port Lincoln recently, when its gone its gone, don't be fooled by labels suggesting the same coz it simply is not available. If you see "Tuna Oil" in bottles & it has distinct layers of different colours in it, beware coz "Oils ain't Oils" most are blends. You could be about to pay $15 or more a litre for Vegetable oil, Canola oil or whatever else they can find cheap to fill the bottle.Even Neptune branded Tuna oil, which has for years been 100% is now no longer Tuna oil, at least they tell you that though, it's now called Fish oil.Similar story to the "Cockle" thing, somebody else is prepared to pay a whole lot more for the raw product than what the fishos will, so, nil supply to the tackle trade. The health food companies are paying in some cases $30 per litre to sell you fish oil over the counter, Omega 3 at its best.Finatic

So GNSS are you suggesting that 19.129 minutes is incorrect??? or in fact 19.129 minutes can not exist or be plottedor that .129 seconds is not 129/60,000ths of a minute???Converted 129/60,000ths of a minute is 7.47 seconds if you wish for a less than accurate coordinate. An examplehow far in fact is it between point S 33 54 00E137 19 7.47& pointS 33 54 00E 137 19 7.48orS 33 54 00E137 19 7.46My bet is that it is a whole lot further than the distance between S 33.54.000 E 137.19.129& S 33.54.000E 137.19.130orS 33.54.000E 137.19.128I may yet stand corrected, but I don't think so.To save the confusion for those that will likely get blown away by technicalities here, I have a convertor in store, feel free to bring in your mark for conversion to a format that you may better understand.GNSS, don't know about that bus load, looking at the karma it may stay empty for a while.Finatic

Squidley, sorry to point out the obvious the Australian agent will of course declare the product as he's am importer this will load it with around 40% duty tax $312 don't forget, GST to be added another $109.10,  freight to the retailer?? $60?? :( thats now cost the aussie guy $1261, :woohoo: :woohoo: that would leave the fella on the end, the very one that carries the highest risk, and the very guy thats to provide service advice & backup if it shits itself $139 as his profit as he quoted $1400. :S :S He runs a store of some sort, employs people to put it into stock then retrieve it for you.  Would have thought thats not too greedy but compartive to the margins I get on $1000 product it's made me realize I'm in the wrong business. Need to research a little further on vehicle parts importation, all cash of course so I can scam the duties that the Australian dealers are paying. Don't get me wrong here, I'd go the same way to save 600 bucks, but, it does highlight that we, us, Australia, has a problem. :( An ever increasing problem as the direct example you've just offered has just unemployed your next door neighbours kid that could have run a warehouse & your other neighbour (the bookeeper) & your sisters husband , he is in fact a fantastic retail salesperson & over time has helped & pleased many hundreds of people. A few pollies will need to go (no harm here) as no duty was declared. :woohoo: :woohoo: The banks still got fat   as it was a credit card transaction so they still got their 1.8% for stuff all, but it gets worse yet, :silly: :silly: whos gonna fit the stuff   , the mechanic closed :S coz the kid, the bookeeper, the dad & the pollies all have no money to spend with him as maintenance on vehicles is a luxury item & is certain to go when things get tough. The chat sites that were so helpful offering advice, feedback & opportunity to bounce ideas with others on your chosen products are also gone as theres no retailers left to sponsor them. All a bit sad really but I'm with you Squidley, I work far too long & hard to squander it so my 600 fat is still worth more than all the above sacrifices & none of it will change with the current softon pollies that we half elected or did we really elect them at all.  Guess we could all bottle River Murray water & put it into storage for the next drought that may help someone if not ourselves. ;) Alan, would you be happy if Sportfishing Whyalla had nil stock of the stuff you need now???? Terowie, did you not read the thread earlier in this post re the margins Aussie retailers are already running on, that is of course running shopfronts??? Nothing offensive intended here readers, just a reality check & please pardon the pollie pun, couldn't help myself. Seeing & talking to many hundreds of people from all walks of life coming thru the shop I can absolutely testify that prior to the KRUDD07 RIP11 deal, we all as a society were far better off & I hate them all equally.Finatic

See us instore if you don't know how to tie them, shall gladly show you but don't leave it till 23rd or 24th as half the population do to start their Xmas shopping.Finatic

Hi all,This is a notification we have received from Jarvis Walker regarding Warranty and Spare Parts on all their products. 24 November 2010Notice to Australian tackle retailers: Internet tackle not covered by warranty Jarvis Walker Brands has announced that all future parts requests or warranty claims on Penn, Fin-Nor and Quantum reels must be accompanied by a receipt proving the reel was purchased from an Australian business. The move is a result of an increase in volume of fishing reels entering Australia through online transactions with sellers from other countries. Jarvis Walker Brands Director Trevor Maundrell said “Tackle purchased online from other countries is a major threat to the future of good service from Australian tackle suppliers. Consumers need to be aware that if they purchase products from overseas and something goes wrong, or the goods are factory seconds, reconditioned stock, or otherwise not the quality they were expecting, their only recourse will be to send it back to that international supplier for after sales servicing and warranty claims. Jarvis Walker Brands will no longer accept any parts or warranty claim without a proof of purchase from an Australian business.”“Jarvis Walker Brands will certainly continue to offer excellent back-up service for all our products purchased from Australian businesses, including those reels purchased from Australian tackle stores offering online services,” said Maundrell. Jarvis Walker Brands’ after sales service is managed by its subsidiary Angler’s Central Service Centre (ACSC). ACSC is the biggest dedicated after sales tackle facility in the southern hemisphere, offering a parts and service facility for the growing list of fishing and marine brands developed and/or distributed by Jarvis Walker Brands.Jarvis Walker Brands has also announced they will be undertaking a marketing campaign to encourage consumers to purchase their tackle from local businesses to secure the future of quality after sales service. The campaign is scheduled to launch in January 2011.
