urhookedfish 12
I have been in the market for a new rod.Originally I wanted something similar to a STEEZ ie plenty of bling with split eva grips and in the 1-3kg or 2-4kg range.Daiwa does make a few nice sticks and I was tempted but I really wanted something in Shimano.I must admit, there wasnt alot of total quality sticks from Shimano out there IMO.I got looking on Plat in Japan and was like whoaaah. Now theres a good looking stick. Yes I know its got cork grips, but I am a fan. Its a rod designed by Jackal and made by Shimano! Its like the best of both worlds. Now to wait till my tax cheque comes in and spend it before the missus says we need to spend it on the house. lolI think to match that Im going to get myself a 2500 Stella FDSo all up it should be a wicked combo. Heres a link if the Jackal Poison Glorious takes your fancyhttp://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/product_info/language/en/products_id/13397/cPath/80_919_1733/osCsid/24a0765342278e4596226cedae0d7d87/rod/poison-glorious-263l-vi-albea-r-ask-bhe-availabiliby.html Tacklebags
fished out 0
Holy **** that graphite thinks it's fibre glass! This will be a sick combo, what are you planning to use it for?I mainly have cork handles on my rods, I don't see anything wrong with them. Do you know why people don't like them?
rooboy123 9
That rod is a thing of beauty. Porn indeed!!Nice look to it, and incredibly light. My wife doesn't understand why I get excited over things like that. Doesn't matter if it's fishing gear, cars, guns or even furniture. It's no so much the bling that draws me in, it's the look of quality in a product. I hope you do get to purchase it and spend many hours not only marveling at its beauty, but also slaying many fresh and salt water fishies with the combo!! urhookedfish
Piranha 76
Theres good reasons why light high end quality rods have cork grips, the main one being much greater feedback through the rod as EVA acts like a big sponge that reduces feel, fine for snapper and the like but for small finiky species and light tackle Eva is not great! urhookedfish 12
Will be using mainly for trout, bream, small school jew and redfin.Might get the occasional flick at a small to medium reds if I put some 10lb braid on it but highly unlikely as a stella only comes with the one spool dont they? Those Aero 4000 ci4+ reels are very tempting urhookedfish
urhookedfish 12
Those ColtSnipers look wicked. The specs ont eh 1000H LOOK GREAT. If I cant end up picking up the FD STELLA Then Im thinking of getting the COMPLEX 2500 HGS 2012 modelOr 2013 modelThe non CI4 model Complex are the japanese built reels where as the CI4 are built in Malaysia like the Sustains. But the non CI4 COMPLEX's cost about 400+USD and there arent many left. here is the non CI4 MODEL. You will notice there is no x-ship stamp on handle. Yakmando 49
Nice! Shimano is the go! Had the new Luvias for 4 or so weeks now, and defiantly not overly impressed for the price, due to the fact you can dunk a shimano and it's fine, dunk a daiwa and everyone says get it serviced, it will die! Also, why does everyone ignore Japan Pro Fishing? Cheaper after postage on everything. Don't understand why it hasn't worked for a month or so though.
rooboy123 9
Also' date=' why does everyone ignore Japan Pro Fishing? Cheaper after postage on everything. Don't understand why it hasn't worked for a month or so though.[/quote']I think they are running a new site called Jpangler.com. That's what I've picked up from other forums. Our strng dollar makes it very tempting for all the Jap bling!!

FishnSnags 0
I'd never spend money like that on a rod without holding it just because it looks good and i like the specs. What if its not how you IMAGINE it to be? To me some rods just dont feel right but they still looked good, thats why i picked em up. If you get the combo spool it up with 10-15lb or buy another spool, i've done this with a couple of reels and it means you use them alot more. Something important to me if it costs almost a weeks wage, plus the Steez's drag wants to do some work Does look like a nice combo.
urhookedfish 12
Fair call FishNsnags about not buying gear without picking it up, but sometimes with JDM products you just can't get to sample or touch/try them before ordering so you dont have many options. lolBut for me its a must have so Ive got to make sure my research is spot on in regards to the exact model that I need. it can be tough and yes, your heart can be in your mouth while you wait for it to arrive and hope it turns out to be what your after. NickD 0
hey NickD How much are these reels selling for??They haven't got a price yet because they aren't being sold yet I just saw them today, but i'm guessing they'll be up around a stella's price tag. because the other vanquish is about 500 bucks. vxman29
