  2. Hey all, I'm a student and have been able to put fishing into a assignment by convincing my teacher to let me build a fishing rod, unfortunately a requirement in this task is to interview someone about the processes and things involved. was wondering if any one here makes fishing rods or could guide me to somewhere in Adelaide where I could ask someone a few questions about it all as an interview with a "pro" is a required part of the assignment, cheers

  5. Not used one personally, but heard good things about egi rods being used as land based bait rods for YFW and other similar species.

Yep loving also - great find SurfcaztR. Great stories, footage and photos. So many similarities to here - secret spots, issues with surfers and the crowds that turn up if someone says where they caught fish and always a few crazies fishing in neck deep water lol

    Egi rod as light surf?

Yeah its definitely worth it. I've got a cheapish Rovex 8'6 squid rod and I've used it for salmon, mullet, squid, flathead, whiting, bream and garfish. I've matched it with 2500 - 4000 sized reels and they seem to balance well. It's only 70 dollars from BCF as well. I use it mainly off the beach, rocks and wading. It casts decently well with light line

    Fishing Montauk

I've only watched a bit but I'm loving it so far - Love the history and larger than life characters - its a refreshing change from flyfishing style interviews where they get all pretentious and philosophical. In this one, a guy jams a hook through the skin on his hand and says its the pain that makes fish go cross eyed when you hook em Loving it.

I Marinised this FORD XFlow engine 250 cast iron head etc, Then designed this 316 Stainless steel sea water cooling system that my Nephew Gary Welded together for me, Thanks Gary, I added a 1 to 1 Borg Warner Velvet Drive assembly, Marinised the Carby, and put it all together into my Dealtry 5.5M half cabin boat, that was made by The respected Dealtry Family in South Australia. This project is finally nearing Completion.

    Egi rod as light surf?

Yep. I've used a Samaki Egi Inked 8'6 rod for the last 5 yrs. Really light weight and casts a mile. Best all round rod I've ever used. I've caught squid, tommy's, YFW, gar, mullet, salmon up to 5kg, KGW, bream, drummer + more. The salmon took a while but the rod handled it. I've used it off the beach, rocks, wading and boat fishing comfortably. Great rod in my opinion. Will definitely get another one when this one dies. Hope this helps. Tight lines.
