  1. A bit of a non issue for me, being completely left handed ,footed as bad as anyone can imagine, spending time fishing with right handers in the family from a youth up the river yorkes ect everyones reels except for mine were set up handle to the right , so somehow adapted to winding right but still cast left. My brother bowls left handed bats right in cricket, and be hard for some to believe in a game years ago he took 8 for 23 with the ball bowling left handed and made 123 with the bat right handed in the one game.
  2. Also remember with full neoprenes, .......err...they are very unforgiving for us less than perfect fishos,so if you have a beer gut, skinny legs, or any other feature of interest, they will accentuate it. Strongly advised you take them off before getting out the car at a servo, going into a shop ect...to avoid funny stares !
  3. I feel like a mushroom most days.....get kept in the dark and fed bulls#^t.

    what braid

I"m sure the braid is great Scotty and a great price. But on a personal level, and just from my experience, i would NEVER deal with Shimreels ever again, the slowest postage and most offensive, aggressive ,horrible people/person on the planet. I ordered a lure from them ,and after a month of not recieving it ,queried about it and from then on things got nasty, they are dead set horrible, the worst online buying experience ever ,couldnt stress enough how bad they get.
  5. The murray will still be murky[locks, irrigation, runoff, lack of bankside vegetation, mismanagement will guarantee this], no restocking program......as per usual. If they can spend 15 mil on a virus, why dont they spend a little more and stock say 50,000 callop and cod fingerlings between each lock [like they do in Vic] , easy and would probably only cost a couple of hundred grand to do so if that.
  6. https://theconversation.com/should-we-release-the-deadly-carp-virus-into-our-rivers-and-water-supplies-57982 http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-05-02/carp-eradication-program-could-cause-pollution-problems/7374658 I am very worried that Chris Pynes name is mentioned with this, a real and definate worry having that imbecile involved with anything .
  7. That is contaray to what I've been reading on this virus no nation or state in the world has PURPOSEFULLY introduced this virus into any waterway anywhere in the world,it has been trialled but not introduced into any river or waterway. If we do so we will be the first.

    In or out?

Mainly Mulloway off the beach, strips of gar for bream and snook,I seem to get rays unintentionally when using them, always wondered whether I have been doing it right or not.

    In or out?

Just out of curiosity when using fillet/ strip baits , which way do you prefer to have the hook points facing, through the flesh side or the skin ?
  10. I am pretty sure its a Bellbrook, believe it or not I have a red and white one in the dark depths of a tacklebox somewhere.
  11. Whats the best way to put an edge on one of those starting from scratch?
  12. I have both neoprene and hornes, both have their good points but neoprenes can be a huge pain in the you know what to get in and out of and you sweat like a dog in them and your clothes and socks end up getting soaked anyhow with sweat. And the Hornes type always end up getting a hole in them somewhere so you end up getting one soaked leg ,nothing worse. You get repair kits ,but yeah it happens, not that keen on waders, only winter but neos are probably the lesser of the 2 evils. The ones I have you can fold them over and wear them like a pair of pants,or pull them up full length,Hodgemans
  13. Nice post Berg , beautiful looking wilderness there.Much wildlife about? Do you have to be on the lookout for grizzly bears, wolves? Wheres home ,Canada, Alaska?
  14. Not too sure whether scent would make that much difference with surface fishing Berg as the whole type of approach is a visual thing, a sinking fly left sitting near the bottom in long pauses maybe, but sight casting to cruising fish maybe not. cheers [[/url]
  15. I know a guy who fishes salt creek on a regular basis and he buys these things from cheap as chips/reject shop for 2 dollars a pack of 5 and reckons there the bomb. One on the rod tip ,and one on the rod stand for when you walk away to bait up,land a fish ect.
  16. The shipping containers off Ardrossan ....errr... Container ships don't even go anywhere near Adrossan, maybe its containers of some form or another but shipping containers? Could for all money be a load of ice cream containers ,and from what I"ve seen of some of the people that frequent that jetty more than likely Hydroponic pots.
  17. G"day Brenton, is it....well not excactly the famous Yo Zuri Poddy, the no1 school mulloway lure of myth and legend, the lure that even second hand versions have fetched upward of 60 $ on ebay. The lure that Yo Zuri discontinued and has had anyone with one look after like it was some kind of rare piece of jewellery. But I am certain that the factory that had the moulds and produced them is still producing and although the finish isn"t as detailed as Yo Zuris, after recently finding these by a^$e whilst looking for something else, and testing them , they swim, cast ect like a poddy every day
  18. Makes good sense Kuerschie.
  19. G'day lads, when rigging single hooks to lures [decoy style] which way do you put them on,here are 3 different ways,i am leaning toward the way I have rigged them ? Which way would you use A, B or C? Cheers
  20. I know this talk is about Daiwa seajigger and they are fine rods,I recently purchased a gary howard surf cast pro, well worth a look, they come in 3 different 9 foot classes,a 10 foot and an 11 foot. I have the 11 footer and its sweeeeeet.
  21. Nice one doobie,I thought for a minute by the title, your southern entertainment may of been casting your lure accidentally into the nudist area and latching on too a couple of plump white pointers. And a couple of R rated pics of the whole event. But alas.. instead you got onto a couple of hard earned STs, tidy work mate.
  22. Heres what Starlo has to say about it ,and at the bottom some feedback from others.cheers. http://www.starlofishing.com/uncategorized/some-thoughts-on-gliss-line/
  23. Nothing to get too fancy about with salmon, the good old halco hex works as good as anything, although some cast better the sambos smash them like there is no tommorrow. Dont know if you can still get them but juro shiners and kokoda raptors do the business and cast better than anything around these days. I have both and will put a few pics up soon.cheers
