  3. Another area that had good reports on snapper ect is Baffalo Rf. which is a big boat area
  4. You need to talk to some of the locals, as I,ve been out there 8 times from Tumby.Caught plenty of whiting and couldn't find any snapper. The Kingys have been playing havic around the coast lineFrom my understanding that all the bigger fish are south of Spisby Is and down to Dangerous Reef, but could have been there at the wrong time. You'll need a good boat with the currents and afternoon seabreezes, it gets pretty rough.Watch out for the reef west of Partney Is. It goes from 20 mtrs to 1 mtr with no warning.I have done much better around Haystack and Seal Is myself and out wide of Althorpe Is.
  5. Never seen a bouy on it yet, but I've been there mostly holiday seasons.Must produce at times if they cut the bouy off and also it's a reasonable size area. One year I was there I clocked the swells doing 22 knots and standing on the ciff faces looking out, they look slow. :cheer:
  6. Olive Island, don't waste your time out there, unless you love catching blue throats and lots of other rock cods or wrase. It maybe a good area at the right time of the year. As far as 40 cm plus whiting, you already know the area. :woohoo: We use the Bushes for cleaning fish before heading home. Another spot to check on the way out and in is the local tyre reef, not far from the boat ramp. :woohoo: 32.43.919134.14.814Olive Is

  8. I would take my boat for the 3 days, it's a 8 hr drive one way. Just make sure that tyres, brakes, wheel bearing and ect are in good order. You have a spares list, such as spare wheel, wheel bearing kit and grease. The boat should be in good order as u are using it all the time and u had it serviced.Cheapest fuel is at Pt Augusta. Poochera is normaly dearer than Streaky Bay.It would be half an hour difference between towing your boat and not. Next town Kimba and on to Streaky Bay :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

  10. Call into the caravan pk as they have a very good mud map to find your way around. I wouldn,t leave the BarCrusher home.
  11. batesmotel wrote: Our shows are Hobie displays compared with the one at Sanctuary Cove, thats huge. :woohoo: It's that big that one can't park your car there, you have to park in a designated area and catch a bus to the show, 6 ks away. What a day that was. :silly: :woohoo:
  12. Just googled it and sounds like a fairly big show at the Adelaide Show Grns, includes 4 Wheel Drives, camping gear, ect. http://www.saboatshow.com.au/ :woohoo:
  13. Went out from St Kilda on Saturday and tried 10 different spots and covered 102 ks ranging from the Norma, 6 ks passed Fairway Beacon to the Gawler Grns and got 2 Flatheads. We tried out an underwater camera on all spots and all I saw was a couple of cow fish, gardies, blowfish and a squid.Put down burley at Norma and watch the cow fish swiming back and forward, plenty of razor fish there.Still, we enjoyed the day as it was calm and the fish still got their bellies full of blood wormsFound this guy at the end of the St Kilda breakwaterCK in Dog Dish
  14. The lad will be hooked for life, well done. :woohoo: Image the boats going out there now
  15. Sportfishing Scene have always looked after me, They knocked $150 of my outriggers without even asking for a discount.Trent has always given me good service thereLove going there, plenty to choice from.
  16. I don't think a slow tide is an issue down there, cause your at the bottom of the gulfs. You'll have a choice fishing from Rhino Head to Pondi depending on the wind direction.Between the mainland and Althorpe Is. you get a three way wave action.I've seen sharks out at Haystack and Seal Is. But most of my fishing has been in a boat down there.Caught some nice mullet on chinamens beach one year there with a mate
  17. carps wrote: I'm missing something here, It started of about getting service at a favorite tackle store and buying on ebay at a cheaper price and then quotes this ........this is an opinion not a fact ..........So what store did chinu work at?
  18. Chinu wrote: Your part of the reason why they went broke, he was drawing wages while giving you info and has to run a shop. While the ebay guy, in most cases never see the product that you have purchase as it comes from the manufacture or wholesaler dir to you.I'm also guilty of buying through ebay, but if I want product service, I try and buy local and suport our local industry
  19. Bought a cheap smoker from one of the tackle store years ago, we take it on our camping, fishing holidays and it works a treat :cheer:
  20. I think I've worked it out AFFThe anchor prongs can turn inside the anchor shaft that connects to the rope, otherwise the shaft has an eye. :woohoo: I thought the same that the shaft is welded to the anchor prongs Moggy
