  1. Funny you say that, we headed down to Salt Creek for a day trip to christen dad's new surf rod ( Shimano Areo Wave). anyway, he was pulling in a chunk of weed of the beach, when the split butt snapped in two! this is the third time our Shimano rods have done this. We went back to where we purchased the rod from (Anaconda) and the guy at the front desk accused us of running it over with a car! Very disappointed with Shimano rods.

  2.

    Daiwa are evil.

They employ starving children for 5 cents an hour in sweatshops in Luzfukistan.

Often they are deprived civil liberties such as eating and going to the toilet, and are often made to work 19 hour shifts.

This is the reason Diawa rods are often cheaper than others, but with more features.

I use and recommend Shimano, where the starving children get 17 cents an hour for their labour, and they are allowed to use the toilet once a day.

Thanks for the heads up Tinker! the only reason I want to try out Daiwa is because I haveroke numerous Shimano rods, which shouldn't had, as I was told by the shopkeeper.

  4. Hi everyone,

I have just bought a new reel and I'm currently looking for preferably looking for a daiwa rod to suit it for Bream fishing. I'm looking at a 1-3kg rod, with the price range being around $100. if anyone has any advice where to look, r even some suggestions, that would be great!

    Tight lines,

    Tom

  5. I use a mixture of cockles, bloodworms and squid when I go out. I found that it really doesn't matter what bait you use, if the whiting are down there, or in big schools, their destined to bite.

But the only time that I don't use bloodworms is if the leatheries are on the chew. (It takes them longer to chew off that bait, but also gives the whiting time to get the bait.)

  6. Well , what can i say . We will start with , what an awesome time an i was very privileged to be invited along . As far as i know there was a fair few entries asking the boys Andrew and Nick from Hook Line and Sinker to come fishing with them and out of all those entries they answer Mully Madness , Shane "mulloway" Evans to go down Goolwa beach to have a crack at some beach Mully's . I was just lucky to have Shane ask me to come along and help out . The weather was not in our favour and despite this Andrew managed his first Mulloway . Wasn't the biggest going a rough 30cm but still a Mully . Damian who was also invited by Shane landed a Gummy shark as well , that was just over legal . They got some pizzas for dinner and a few beers to wash it down . These blokes were really chill and great to have a fish with . attachicon.gifmonthly_03_2014/post-7081-139623847901.jpgattachicon.gifmonthly_03_2014/post-7081-139623847904.jpgattachicon.gifmonthly_03_2014/post-7081-139623847906.jpgattachicon.gifmonthly_03_2014/post-7081-139623847907.jpgattachicon.gifmonthly_03_2014/post-7081-139623847911.jpgattachicon.gifmonthly_03_2014/post-7081-139623847909.jpgThe episode should be aired April the 13th i think .
