    Hi
I have always been an avid watcher of Big Angry Fish I really like the show, it has given a few ideas which I intend to try this year and see if the same techniques they use will work here in SA.
I have taken the first step in one of those ideas and now have in my possession my versions of Nathan's famous skutes. I did not tie them but I have been bitten by the bug and already have some ideas on my own versions for different species and going to teach myself how to tie them it cant be that hard .
I was fortunate to ask someone I have known for a while and here are what I picked up today
Ive got to say that I am really happy with what he produced I am now dying to get out try........if this #@%^ing wind ever stops long enough to allow me to go where I want to go. I will be making a sacrifice tomorrow on the sabbath to the weather gods

    Here's the 10 I got today

i dont really have a favorite jig. for me its all about finding what jigs work best at certain times of the day and working out what works best in different conditions. squiding would have to be hands down my fav form of fishing.😁😊

LL Both boats are ok, but substantial freeboard does not mean great stability.
Having owned at least 30 or 40 boats, all within that size range and all open boats, I’ve learnt a lot.
Theres nothing worse than being on a small boat and feel like it’s going to tip over when two of you decide to go to the same side of the boat at once. There’s not a lot of alloy boats out there that this wi t happen on. Some are stable, most are not. As for the two you have shown I can’t comment on their stability as I’ve not been on them.
Are you set on alloy? Why?
I own a Gannet 15’ open runabout built by Dealtry. It’s one of the most stable boats in its size.
Professionals love them!! Back in the early days lots and lots of pros used them because of their stability and seaworthiness, and lots of them still use them to this day for that very reason. The one I own now is about my eighth Gannet (not sure, lost count). I sell them for various reasons and then regret it and get another.
If you want to drive up to Moonta you are more than welcome to come for a trip in mine and see for yourself.

    Did You Know?...............
    Camping permits and fees
As from 1st September 2016 the following came into effect:
All designated bush camping grounds are subject to a fee and a permit must be obtained prior to setting up camp Camping is now permitted at Daly Head as well as Len Barker Reserve, Port Minlacowie, Parara and the Foul Bay Boat Ramp More choices of permit types – nightly, weekly, monthly or annual Special ‘local rates’ for ratepayers Anyone camping without first obtaining a permit may be liable to a $100 fine All camping permits are recorded on a central data base The permit will no longer be restricted to a particular camp ground, instead it will allow you to camp at any of the Yorke Peninsula designated camp grounds.

Just a heads up guys. Came across an instagram account tonight masqurading as a young lady who fishes adelaide hills creeks and streams for trout.
None of her photos are Legit, and a reverse image search revealed at least one of the photos she is claiming as her own is actually one of Meppsta's (I presume)

The account is https://www.instagram.com/ruzzomelissa/ if anyone wants to check it out for any of there own pictures.

Meppstas stolen photo is from this article https://www.tasfish.com/135-rivers/mersey-river/2454-good-spin-session-in-tannin-waters-22-9-2017

Try Port Minlacowie, cupla K's north of Hardwicke. Camping area about 600m Sth of the boat ramp- no facilities. Very rocky coast, good for squid, gar, tommies. I have seen Kingies and hammer heads in close.
Or Mozzie Flat, 20Km due west of Edithburgh.  Free camping with no facilities. Camping good behind sandhills, fishing difficult with southerlies blowing.

Noz, there are stacks of places up my way on Yorks.
You could head to the gap. There’s a camping ground right next to beach, long drop dunny, and good fishing off the beach for gars Crabs yellowfin squid etc....
