  1. Bjorn, if u get the chance, stop by the Hodge marine stand, find George and Craig, tell them Ale with the old Swiftcraft is grateful for all their help and a happy chappy. They'll know what I'm talking about.Kudos for the comp!!
  2. nah, but most of my snapper fishing happens in deep water which requires plenty of lead anyway. Im sure your method would work tho
  3. Waspy, Im assuming your query is in regards to your newly acquired taste for Plastix fishing?Mate, 3 years ago I was exactly the same, had never used anything but maxima mono.First braid I bought was some rubbish fused Jarvis walker crap, was terrible!Had memory, wasn’t supple at all, almost like thin wire. Almost gave up on braid, but hit buy it now on some cheap China dyneema braid on ebay and used that.Straight away I found it 10X better than any mono Id ever used. The sensitivity it gives over stretchy mono is amazing.Never had an issue with it breaking pre maturelySince then I still ha

  7. Nice posting Des!! Say it again, but jeez u eat well at your house!! Some much quality.
  8. nice story mate!!. Get a few feeds from that catch!!You unintentionally made a good point about big snapper in deep water. They don't release well and IMO C&R fishing for them in this environment doesn't have the fishe's best interest at stake. Top job on finding the floater tho Also, can I ask what ice box brand and size is that? Looks perfect size for a couple good fish!
  9. mate, you cant post pix like that without words!!! :cheer:
  10. Went n seen the good guys at SFS this morn cos my stocks where low
  11. The metro shoreline is milkshake brown and I dare say too cold. Sure, dig ya worms local, but best bet would be checking Des's postabout water temps, and head north to the flats.Might even jag some little bronzees wading the shallows.Good luck and be sure to come back to post ya report!
  12. Not the latest batch, but I un expectedly got some whilst buying china braid off ebay about 1 year ago.I bought some cheap spectra 20lb and when it rocked up it was in a power pro box.Seller played dumb when I queried him, I still kept it.Diffnately feels like cheap braid, works fine, but doesnt feel anything like the real stuff.Seems there is plenty of info on how to pick the fake this time around, but when I got mine, the seller purposly had a different pic on the auction with a " actual braid may look diffrent" disclaimer.Counterfeit goods are something many multinationals have to deal wi

  16. Mate, kudos to you!!! Be oarsome to see it in action. Get a great insight on how it all happens! U may have to upload the vid to a third party site like photobucket then link it. Can upload it for you if u want to email it to me. May want to find a way of streaming the vids live on to the boat, the last thing u may see is some big teeth!!

  20. Im my experience (very limited) you will have more shrimps in those nets than yabbies. Specially this time of the year. The yabbies in my pond at home are only just waking from their winter slumber Those nets are great value and will work fine
  21. Shannon, I'm one of the "minority" that voted to not save the jetty. Don't put all of us minority in the same box. I have no access to the jetty and have always abided by the laws around it's exclusion zones. But still want it left as is or disassembled. At this stage we don't have a RFL to raise any funds. l can't c it happening. So I agree with Pauly, if by some miracle the jetty is opened, it will be raped and be like every other one within months. The powers don't have enough resources to police the existing rape scenes, this will just be another area .Best it's left as is, and we enjoy an
