    Spool repairs

depends what you want it to look like mate, but some epxoy as stated would work fine, wait for it to dry then dress it smooth with a file / wet n dry.Or if its a cheap reel anyway, just dress the spool as it is, make the nick a small impression instead
  5. Yep, the Boss strikes again !!! Well done mate
  6. Cool, I think I get it. So much the same as Snyderglass then ' they dont make them like that anymore ' type of scenario..Pix, this thread needs pix!! Id like to see some of these things, loaded up and inflicting pain on all!! and of course the capture.from the sounds of it, may require the scanning of some polaroids tho
  7. Can some one explain to me what the deal is?Ive never seen one , let alone fished with one, but can someone explain why this brand of rod is so sought after? They are constantly being bought and sold and talked up. Whats the go with them? Are they an old school rod made form fiberglass, or are they still making them?Just curious that's all, enlighten me?
  8. Wow, you learn something new everyday. Thanks mate!!cant imagine what it would be like to catch something that weighs more than me, and in the case of that vid, twice the anglers weight!! :woohoo:
  9. That thing wouldve gone so hard :woohoo:
  10. Buying rods online is dangerous, I like to hold and bend my rod before forking out the cash. Not to mention, the savings found online with rods often gets dissolved in the added freight cost.
  11. I didnt know that Knackers, cheers.Sounds like a logistical nightmare, can imagine the protocols involved to make it happen, and Im sure the "private" contractors doing it will rub their hands together.Just the liberal way I guess
  12. The labour NBN would do wonders for many work places like mine.I have to send and recieve large 3D files all over the world, we have live confrence calls to share screens and what not on the daily. As the rest of the world gets better internet, its these facets of business that will struggle and fall behind the rest.Even my indian based counterparts will be laughing at our speeds in a couple years
  13. ah Ok, if its the store Im thinking, it is quite small and Ive always got good service there. Could it be a place where a long term fishing journo works part time?.I have read else where that DF have bulk spools of cheap china braid to spool customers reels if people are really penny pinching.Plus, the fake Power Pro epedemic has reared its head again, with plenty of it sold on ebay.I actually got some by accident a few years back when buying cheap ebay braid, wasnt half bad for the cash
  14. This site doesnt restrict from plugging non sponsors mate, but was it indeed Dorsals?
  15. hmm, so its got a Zaion rotor, magnetic oil and 33kg drag. No mention of any gears or bearings etc. Was hoping for more info.Im assuming it will sit lower than the Catalina, cant see how a reel would slot in under the Saltiga but above the Catalina.Sure looks sweet, I like its "stumpyness"
  16. and I thought my rod had a strange bend in it!! some epic footage there, gets Knarly at the 4min mark, and is it just me, or is the decky wearing wet weathers and thongs.?
  17. 10 points for effort mate, weather was foul today, kudos.
  18. I did the rounds of all the Cash convertors stores, got myself a garden mulcher for $60. Works a treat, makes a nice mess but easy to clean and chops through anything fishy. Just have to make sure you get one with a metal body and one with a big enough opening ( or removable entry )mine is a Talon, made easy work of 6 SBFT frames on one sunny afternoon
  19. Jealous as!!! here we are with gale force winds and rain every second day.thanx for sharing
