  1. I got a few in the Largs Bay area last week, fished exactly the same as I do in the warmer months, but used small Squid baits instead of Gents, and they are just as frustrating as ever.
  2. I love this type of thread, when Mulloway gurus like Jack & snapperhead (+ others) give little insights into some of their successful fishing techniques. I read it, take it in, and if I get the chance I will test out some of the theories. :f The video show a slightly different technique, one that would seem slightly more logical than a Mulloway taking Soft Plastics off the bottom, but from my limited Bream and SP experiences that’s exactly what the Bream do! IMHO it’s what fishing is all about, learning and trying different techniques and then personally nailing a particular fish
  3. Nice work Jimbo Maybe not many fish from the first area, but looks like a beautiful spot. Great video as always. Cheers.
  4. I opened my collapsible net this morning in the anticipation of some fishy success in a quick LB flick before work, and it was cactus I've had it for a few years and it was cheap, but can't remember where it came from. I'll be looking for a replacement tonight and will let you know if I find a decent buy.
  5. Top work mate. Great the video Nice t-shirt too Cheers.
  6. 2kg+ Salmon from the stones, plus a few other targets, but this is the most realistic hopefully :f :woohoo:
  7. Nice work Jack Catching Snapps and taking videos
  8. We fished for Salmon Trout yesterday, land based, and the flick bait style Soft Plastics were very successful
  9. Nice video Jimbo. Looks like you had a good ST session :woohoo: Only been in the Port river once with the tinny and fished that same spot for similar results, I was hoping to pull a Bream from the pylons, had no luck but the STs are always good fun. Banga looks like he might go a bit over the 120lbs mark
  10. Casually went in Snowdens marina a few months ago, when the gates were open, and had a land based SP flick for half an hour before I got asked to leave  I've seen boats go in and have a fish in there, but as Ranger said probably not entitled to be there
  11. Nice work Gimbles on the STs and for getting your kids onto them The STs getting bigger slowly :woohoo: Good question' date=' cos I was unsure that it was dodge around there. that's my number one launch pad' date=' so if you know something I don't, then thank goodness it hasn't happened to me :ohmy:quote'']I left a spot near the boat ramp a couple of weekends ago, about 9.30am, and noticed a green 4WD with boat trailer had had one of it's windows pulled out. Not a nice way to return to the boat ramp after fishing There are a few feral :c about!
  12. Weather is looking good for Sunday at the moment, a few days away so could easily change
  13. I'm in for the second year running. All for a good cause. SA sea fish targets were Gar and KG Whiting last year, I was land based and didn't find either and as I remember the weather was not to flash last year.
  14. Are the colours true in the photo? If not, it looks like a Blue Devil fish, maybe?
  15. I have had a couple of magic sessions on the jetty at Venus Bay, Trevally, Salmon and XL Tommies, early morning worked best for us. Sat outside the tent in the caravan park one arvo watching a guy in his Tinny landing whiting after whiting not very far out at all. It's a beautiful place.
  16. I stopped fishing off metro jetties years ago because I got fed up with the crowds, all the nets/lines and the mess that usually gets left behind. I tend only to fish off the rocks (lots of choice) around North Haven when fishing land based.
  17. Session 1: I had a quick flick for Bream before work last week, but only managed a few of these.I had my only Wriggler biten in half, didn't even feel the bite. Someone else likes to fish in comfort from these rocks. Session 2: I spent 2hrs walking the rocks last weekend flicking soft plastics and had no bites but managed to catch my strangest SP catch to date. :silly: Changed tactics when I was coming back off the rocks and Gar rescued me from a fishing doughnut. :woohoo: Session 3: Took the Tinny out in search of a few crabs on a beautiful morning.Caught a few crabs , and some other cr
  18. My job for Xmas lunch is to provide the seafood, so when I read this topic yeterday, it inspired me to defrost some Gar and have a go. I now have a large jar of Rollmop Garfish in the fridge using Rangers first recipe. Looking forward to trying them on Xmas day along with smoked Tommies, Crabs(caught tomorrow, hopefully ) and a rugger Snapper that's in the freezer. :woohoo: Bring on Xmas. :f

  22. I have an 80 series Landcruiser, 1993, just clicked over to 334,000 kms on the way to work this morning, dual fuel Petrol and LPG. Comfortable driving on road, pretty much take you anywhere you point it off road and tows well. Great for taking heaps of gear and the family camping. Keep thinking I should sell it, but don’t really want to let it go. You could pick something like this up for $7 - $9000.Somewhere on the Eyre Peninsula.Good luck with your search lots to choose from.
