  6. I couldn't help myself & got a fin nor lethal 100 big strong reel with 50 pd drag Use as jig, live bait & deep water bait Need some braid around 60-80 pd Any ideas on rod & braid I know it's over gunned but for $129

  9. Downriggers are a bit over rated land based A cheapy would be fine for shallow with small bombs
  10. What areas you fish & bombs sizes needed for depth? If you can justify the $ the electric that links to sounder & can auto adjust height not such a problem in the gulf manual fine I use a manual "downrigger shop " one from sydney great unit very robust but line counter not great

I just encouraged my mate to get a hark thankfully they sold out of the gas & I kicked in the extra to get the electric smoker Only used it Australia day did baby squid, tuna, lamb loin chops, pork ribs & eggs Tuna heads hot smoked have amazing flavour & lots of meat Look forward to cold smoking some mackerel & tuna10 hr prime rare steak Triple smoked oysters Shame it took hours to do 25 doz :whistle: but sooooooo tasty I like a lot less salt in the brine as I don't need extra shelf life as mates inhale them

  20. Vac packed baits will store, Freeze, pack & transport better The easiest cheap way to vac pack bait is .... Fill bucket of water Put left over bait into zip lock bags pull bottom corners under water to push air out zip up bag Bags can be rinsed & reused My cryovac can strugle with sucking juice out of bait So I just use it for Prime fillets :cheer:
  21. Sounds like you have the idea I would try the shallows at night berley up & don't use heavy trace n huge hooks I would prefer to hook n loose than scare them off Hammer heads & Kingfish are options around the rip to
