  3. Scrub tick in the old scrot*m when I was about 6 years old. Bal* bag went to the size of a baseball and had to stagger (with legs widely apart) to the Doc's for a diagnosis. Worst part was my dear old (departed) Mum having to put ice packs on it every few hours to reduce the swelling. Not much fun laying on your back with a shrivelled peck*r pointing skywards and frozen nuts. :S
  4. Anyone ever eaten larger shrimp? I would have thought they would be a bit like prawns...
  5. The old Bellbrooks (from the '60s) with a pressed stainless steel bib probably swim as well as most lures on the market today. Some of the colours don't change much either - even back then, a "go-to" combination was the old white body with a red head, which still seems to be very much in abundance today. I think "techniques" are merely variations on a theme. Most fishos in years gone past would probably have experimented with different retrieve rates, stop/start, swim/sink, etc. and observed what worked best at the time.af

  13. Went down to Middleton today in pursuit of the old Donax deltoides hoping it would be a little quieter than Goolwa Beach...WRONG!!!Totally overrun with surfers...Finally ended up at Goolwa (Pipi Central) and was totally amazed at the number of vehicles/people there (a bit like Rundle Street on a busy day)...Got what I wanted (with the help of a little tacker whose parents just wanted him to go on a "treasure hunt", but weren't interested in the least in keeping their catch), then headed back home after a quick re-fuelling stop at the Port Elliot Bakery.A good day - got me out of the house and
