  2. used to build all my own rods way back, mainly because it was cheaper than buying the shop ones. Gee we used to dream of owning an IMX 6 rod but at over a $1000 well out of our range these days the cheapest rods are made with IMX Materials hahaha The other great point about it is, it's great fun to catch fish on a rod you have built. Oh another plus, you can choose how many and place the guides where "YOU!" want Plus have the backbone the right way round Loved real cork grips too so my special rods always had Cork and my everyday sea stuff the spongy stuff Once you have finished yo

  9. when in the fishing club years ago, on the rocks i would use spark plugs as sinkers, they open up when caught and 90% of the time you get your hooks back, just hook another spark plug to the loop and go again. You will be surprised how they don't get snagged as much too, must be there shape! i also used to have the hook at least a meter off the bottom to try and keep it out of the weed. But most of the time we float fished, use one of those snapper style floats with the lead on the bottom tie a bit of wool on the main line to set the depth, check a knot site how to tie it. Let the float s

  19. Hi all, well 2013 has been a very slow year for Snapps and myself fishing wise and i thought i'd fill a few of Snapps mates in on whats happened.Snapps had a heart attack 3 years back and some stints put in, also for the past 3 years he has been waiting to get a complete knee replacement after having %@#* it with sport as a youth. Knee op happened this year and after 3 months of recovery he was about to go back to work but had another heart attack last week, resulting in a 3 way by-pass op straight away, then 2 days later had a Lung collapse. So my buddy is in hospital recovering at the moment

Last year my son went to one of our fav spots and caught no fish, he did find 10 yes read that right 10 Mulloway heads on the bottom of the creek, we were dumb founded and had no idea why anyone would take 10 Mulloway and just cut the heads off Snapps went to the same spot 2 weeks later and did not see a fish, BUT! was harassed by a big seal. It followed them all over the creek! he gave up after a couple of hours and headed back to the ramp and as he is pulling the boat out low and behold there is the seal, it had even followed him back to the ramp.so the plot thickens, no fish at all in the
