I find that when i am squidding the cheapies work just as well as the expensive jigs(i like blue myself).....this is the reason i would just usually buy the 5 for $10 jobs and throw them away if they lost there cloth covers ,not that that has ever happened.......in saying that i havent tried a really expensive jig.....are they really that good??......i reckon they are like salmon if they are there then they are gonna hit almost anything that moves, maybe it is in the retrieve too?

nice pics mate! ........ive heard plenty about the massive school of salmon at sellicks over the past few weeks......they didnt hang around for very long either from most reports that ive heard.I went down looking at a block of land at sellicks a few weeks ago, there must have been 30 or 40 guys on the beach in front of the southern ramp with there surf rods, didnt see any one pulling in anything that day though.keep up the good work

SA RECREATIONAL FISHING LICENCE A REALITY!!!!!!!
krustykrab replied to tonyb's topic in General Fishing
fishing licence........agree,you dont really know where the money is going to go??now i dont have any problem paying for a fishing licence dollars wise.......but there are people out there struggling from week to week with money who like to take there family for a cheap day out having a picnic and throwing a line in....now looking like having to pay $$ that they cant afford.they will start taxing every breath we take soon..... shit we are getting stung for anything and everything now. i hope some good comes out of it..... -
my mate went and said there were 100S of people there and the bidding was hot hence the close to retail prices you are talking about .....he didnt pick up anything was hoping for a real bargain.......so was everyone obviously,i never shopped there but i guess it was good for the owner to get rid of all of his stock.

SS i was thinking the same thing about garfish imitation lures the other day when i was scaling 20 big snook and watching a mate pull garfish beaks etc. out of the snook.......then i thought nahh...................i will just stick to the lures im using which are deadly for snook!lure is hb halco laser pro 120mm in pilchard when the sun is up and red head when its still dark.....these things out fished my two mates using yozuri mag minnows 3 to 1.just lucky no.......they always kick ass imo.KK

i have a shimano jewel snapper 762 matched with a stradic 4000 reel........great outfit i love it....bought it from anglers choice at christies beach.great for salmon fishing, casting lures a mile off the beach up to 45gm............have caught snook with it too...a breeze....would recommend....light weight you can throw lures all day.
