  3. Wilson 8144 "Mulloway" rated at 15 / 20kg for around $190I have 1 for my 9500ss Spinfisher and 1 for my ABU 10 000.......both running 30lb mono Great rods for the $$$$ Hope that helps
  4. ........see,proof that $$$ is the "root" of all evil
  5. 29% ?????????..........I wouldn't spend that much time even,if I lived next door to a wood-yard Don't miss what you don't get Anyway,my missus.....well.......   ......but her pay is good
  6. Good for bringing in the "rubbish fish"........sharks and rays .....that's why I use them. Not sure about "real fish" like snapper etc
  7. Nowhere near as often as I'd like I can tell you that for nothing SWMBO rules with an Iron Fist(Iron Curtain?)......a very unforgiving piece ofCold War surplus to say the least.Still, she earns the Rouble,so poor old USSR has to go without I do manage a trip to Yorkes every month over summer, and perhaps twice during the rest of the year :pinch:
  8. .......you just can't help some people
  9. not sure Station49.....not a mathematician does it work like that "I'm not real smart, but I can lift heavy fings"
  10. Stumbled across this simple formula for line capacity......I know that my TLD 50 holds 700m of 50lb.......but I choose to run 80lb......how much do I need to buy?here we go.....700m x 50lb = 35,000.....divide this by 80(lb) = 437.5 mObviously not "exactly" correct due to varying diameters of line for the same given breaking strain.Consequently,if I wanted to run it with 30lb....700m x 50lb = 35,000 divide by 30(lb) = 1166.66mmay help "someone someday"
  11. about halfway along their dorsal fin,but above the lateral line.all I've ever caught on them are rays ......but I love rays

  16. Heard of a friend of a friend of his brother-in-laws wifes cousin who got hold of "dozens" of 6 foot lengths of aluminium angle.......1" x 1"..........spent a couple of hours in the back shed, strategically drilling 3/16th holes in them all. They all fit inconspicuously into the hull of a boat, taking up minimal room..........along with a "bucket full" of 3/16" gutter bolts and a screwdriver and spanner, went offshore to begin construction.Eiffel Tower like apparently, around 3m tall and a base 2.5m square......Frog's would've been proud;or so the story goes.
  17. Well said Ranger.A lot of fisho's are "average Joe's" who have fished from the "day dot",because it was cheap, kept us off the streets and sometimes a feed bargained into it as well.In this day and age, being a single income family(on the "lower end" at that),two kids at school, running a car etc.......survival is week to week as it is, without the addition of "extra's".We are doing it tough at the moment, but, there are worse off...........so for me personally, the "breaking point" for me will be the monthly trip away with the fella's for a fish and a few laughs.May see 25+ outfits in the buy / sel
