I think the fishermen should be banned for this...it is clearly their fault. I thought the original idea of the current shape of squid jags was to imitate prawns?Now we have them being coloured to imitate fish.I wonder how much better a KG whiting jag would work if was shaped like a KG whiting?Or maybe it wouldn't work because it stopped looking enough like a prawn?Lesson from my musings - squid are fairly stupid and will eat anything :silly:

So today I headed off to Semaphore Jetty hoping for some salmon better than the ones we've been getting. It was rainy, windy weather which attracts salmon! We managed to land a massive 29cm salmon close to shore in the 10th cast followed by a nice mullet! :woohoo: It was a good sign! We kept fishing and landed heaps more salmon and 2 mullet! Even mum joined in!It was crazy but that wasn't the end! All the salmon moved off to the deeper water so we moved too. We landed another 19 plump salmon! Every cast! In less then 20 seconds of casting, we were on! :woohoo: Here is a photo of a juicy salmon! The day ended with a massive 30 decent salmon between mum, brother and me! Biggest went 33cm!BEST DAY EVER! :woohoo:

Had another session later this arvo. In a different spot. The action wasnt that great but did manage to pull out an 38cm bream.. Got a few St's aswell but was pretty quiet considering the action i had yesterday.Leigh got a 30cm bream and a few ST's too.Whitebait did the damage and the same rig aswell......

Had an hour up my Sleeve this morning... Went down old Noarlunga for a bream session on baits as i havent had a bait session for awhile. In 30 minutes got 4 bream biggest going 40cm, smallest going just under 28cm. Christened the Daiwa Heartland and Daiwa Calida 2000 that have been sitting there not getting used. I loved the Sound of the drag Screaming from the Caldia. Bait of choice was white bait and the rig was a simple rolling swivel to 4lb leader with two Size 2 Daichii Hooks snelled.So if your after a bit of fun head down the onk and give it a try.. theres plenty around
