Twitch twitch, orientalfish and I are thinking of getting into some mully fishing. We have a bit of knowledge on how to go about things but are currently in the process of buying gear. Just wondering whether people have a specific rig set up for live baits which work well. I was thinking maybe the use of circle hooks? Well as the Pat isn't affected by tide, it probably wouldn't influence the water level too much. However, the gates tend to be opened at each high/low tide during the day to let fresh sea water flow in so it may disrupt the fish's normal feeding habits. The airport end would still be fine because the bridge constructors have a big wall running through the middle of the river part anyway.

Well I guess you have to decide whether you are going to use your own rods or the charter's rods and reels. Personally, I would take maybe my best one or two rods and reels and if that wasn't enough, I would use the boat's rods if need be. Presuming you have 1 piece game rods that you want to take, you will probably have to take them on the plane in a rod tube. (They can be bought for about $20-$30).The reels can normally be fit into your bags (hand luggage or not).In terms of lures, well I think the charter will probably know which lures and baits work best so I wouldn't really bother taking

I guess that is one of the bonuses of using circle hooks. Because of their natural shape, the actual pointy bit of the hook points towards the shank. This means that if it is pulled along the bottom, it will rarely snag up.

I guess if wanted to you could always just go to a tackle shop and see for yourself whether they are 1 or 2 piece. Are you buying it on the net?
