  1. Hi guys,Hitting the Southport Beach footbridge tomorrow using baits. I have a few ball sinker rigs with 8lb mono and size 4-6 hooks. Just wondering whether anyone has been having any success down there recently?Any info will be greatly appreciated.
  2. Hi guys, In the recent Adelaide North (I think) report of Wild Coast I came across a small paragraph talking about elephant sharks off semaphore jetty and tennyson beach. I have never targeted elephants so I was just wondering whether anyone could suggest the types of outfits, line, rigs and baits that would be suitable.Thanks.
  3. Great story there. Amazing to see the sorts of things that he can do that even able-bodied fisherman find hard.

  12. Hi guys,As a bit of a newbie to freshwater fishing I have recently come across various bits on Fountain Valley in the southern suburbs. After looking into it, I have suddenly decided that I'll have a crack at it. I was just wondering whether anyone would mind letting me in on what line, hooks and sinkers they use when targetting carp in there?Help is greatly appreciated.
  13. If you're keen for some land-based squid get ready for the winter-spring seasonal change. In my eyes it is one of the best times to get 'em off metro and rural jetties.
  14. My brother has 4lb pink fireline on his bream reel and the only problem he's had with it is that its colour fades. (I have 4lb crystal white colour so I haven't noticed a change in my colour).
  15. Today I was just looking at the southern suburbs using google maps and I came across a dam and river named Fountain Valley. Just wondering:a) Is it legal to fish thereb)If so, what can you catch and howI would like to start to involve myself in the freshwater fishing scene so any help on this newfound Fountain Valley place would be fantastic.
  16. Hey Ubolt. I have had a Daiwa Redback 4-8lb for about 8 months now and think it's a fantastic rod for bream luring. I cannot reccommend it more highly. It has a strong butt and a great tip for casting lightly weighted plastics and hard-bodied lures. Retailing for about $180 at BCF it is pretty good value. It features IM7 graphite, a fuji reel seat as well as alconite guides. In terms of reel choice. If you have the dollars I would go with a Daiwa Sol. Obviously it is a great reel and will last you quite a long while as long as you keep it in good condition.
