  1. Yeah. If casting distance is what you are after, a 2004/2500 is what you need.Edit-check your pms mate. Have what you are after!
  2. Daiwa Luvias 1003. End of story. Or, if you are not so up to extreme care or Daiwa, a Sustain FG, or a Vanquish from Japan.
  3. I have a Luvias, but am now looking at a stradic fj 2500 for heavier breaming/Mully's. Was looking at a stain, but after reading a thread on BM, with a great reel servicer contributing on it, apparently there is a lot less to go wrong in them, and the only difference is no spool support bearing and a handle bearing. The schematics are near identical! He also recons, to begin with go the ELF at bcf. A jdm import and better than the saros and symetre. Hate to parrot, but just some info for everyone. Cheers
  4. All I will say is-you get what you've paid for, and I believe you will.-Hope no offence is taken, but the truth is the truth....
  5. This makes me sssoooo mad! I just wish that fisheries would bring in length limits on things like flatties and bream as well. Outrages me to see baitos taking huge breeding fish 'just cause'. Some sustainability needs to be implemented in this state, like nsw, Vic, and well any other state!

Scissors, don't know where you heard, but on B.M they said they were great because they were like zmans in the stretch factor. Yeah, agreed, control is terrible, but they all seem to work.

Yeah mate. They have revamped the colour and made it much darker. I think they have made them stronger, as they tear sssooo easily to fish. The left is the original and the right is the new pro range. The sizes have been changed with the moulds also. Shall see how they go eventually.
  8. As one of the ex big bream fishers on this forum said years ago on another forum, every bream system in SA has 50+ fish in it I've done my digging around and there have been many more caught than people think. They just don't get posted so often nowadays, as the bait brigade go and fish them out as soon as they get wind of spots...
  9. wow! That's one horse of a fish! Good to hear the big ones are released they must go like absolute trains!
  10. Nice work! Hopping the big boys were released?......
  11. Pppoffffttttt! That's pocket cash. Here is the most expensive lure in the world:http://most-expensive.com/fishing-lureNot $1000, not 2000 not even 100000. A grand total of $100000!
  12. If you like light, like me, go a symtre 3000 with 10lb. That's plenty heavy for the species mentioned.
  13. Hmmm, I have a daiwa gen black Drunkenmonkey with a Luvias, and the gen black is great. I'd go the extra $50 for a slightly better combo and go something like the blue exellor plus with a gen black. Had a t curve 1-3kg previous to this, but to sloppy. The gen black kills it!Also, if you can wait two or three months, the new model stuff will come out. The awesome symtre will be getting redone I think? Both brands are literally getting better stuff for the price each year!
  14. Pretty sure it's a goby. They seem to like the old micro vibes. A mate has caught them in the glenelg and onk on one. Also heard they are good lives for bream and small Mully's.
  15. Nice! Shimano is the go! Had the new Luvias for 4 or so weeks now, and defiantly not overly impressed for the price, due to the fact you can dunk a shimano and it's fine, dunk a daiwa and everyone says get it serviced, it will die! Also, why does everyone ignore Japan Pro Fishing? Cheaper after postage on everything. Don't understand why it hasn't worked for a month or so though.
  16. Not sure what the rules are on posting from another forum, but I ain't explaining the whole thing this is from bream masterhttp://www.breammaster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51723 Read the whole thing and you will get the idea.Yakman
  17. Saw on the Ifish fb sight that this is a book, and with the topic on what fish you have caught was wondering, what fish are in it? Would love to find out! Would any one who has the book kindly post it on here? Would be greatly appreciated! Here is the books URL. http://www.jarviswalker.com.au/view/the-buzz/the-buzz/the-fisherman-s-bucket-list-50-fish-to-catch-before-you-die.htmlCheers
  18. Just an update. Was reading another forum, and they have messed up the current batch, and bushy hates them. The next batch will be back to the norm.

  20. Great place, and heaps of fun with lures. Been twice and loved both trips. Only really tried for bream and perch, but you can get Mully's. was there at Easter. Lots of small bream, but the odd big boy. I was there with a mate fishing out of the hobbies with lures only and I got a 31cm and 37cm plus a 38cm perch and he got 36cm and 38.5cm as our big ones, and about 20 others under 30 over our 3 days there. We fished purely under donivans. Vibes always work best for us. R2S baby and strike pro micro are best sorts. We rented out a house 300 odd metres from the kiosk and launched on their grass
  21. Hey guys, was just on squidgys photos on fb and saw a normal looking wriggler in a brems mouth and starlo said 'Now THAT'S what a Bloodworm is supposed to look like! Don't worry....we'll get back there. Promise...'So maybe the current lots are duds?
  22. I have the same dilemma. Was thinking of doing this post myself. I have jackals, smiths, daiwas, berkley-all sorts, and yet I have only caught two bream on hbs, the biggest 25cm
  23. Gosen mebarin pe 0.4. So thin. Has 8lb braking strain, but is as thin as 2lb platypus. Platypus is my favourite conventional braid though. Has great knot strength compared to the gosen. Gosen is not for the budget though!
