coonta kinta got a reaction from Trustwell anchor revived? in custom anchor with sheer pin
great idea BS designed and built by you?AFF its pretty simple the prongs are held in the fastening position by the 4mm pin easily seen in the second pic. Look closely at where the right angled prongs enter the flat plate section of the anchor......can u see the gaps?If the anchor snags, it just takes a bit of force presumably, to break the pin allowing the right angle prongs to turn unhindred allowing the whole lot to be pulled free.Simple really!

Just a quick reminder, if you see any sick or injured whales, dolphins or seals, call fishwatch and they will get you onto the wildlife guys.Today while having an early fish, we were suprised to see a big Australian sea lion on the northern side of the southern outer harbour break wall. He was hugging the rocks and along way in heading toward the passenger terminal. Poor bugger had a big shark bite on his flank.Gave the authorities a call and they called me back within 5mins and seemed very concerned. They said they had someone on the water and will keep me updated I think there concern stemms from his location when we sighted him, suggesting that he must be in a bit of strife to be heading into the port like that.I'll keep youse posted if I here anything, because I think the world of them dolphins and seals up my way. It's be a GW I bet... They are everywhere at the moment.P.s. What was that about yakking at the end of them breakwaters ???

Carps & Ranger its not just good human nature of even your duty, its actaully LAW. TrpleB, I'd have done the same thing. Have helped many in my time & been helped as well on the odd occasion. Besides being the law it leaves me with a good feeling knowing that I've helped someone out & maybe built abit of good karma if misfortune were to ever hit me again.

hi guys i was out in the boat on sun morning fished about 30k out and the swell picked up so decided to try a spot about 10k from the stkilda ramp, after fishing for about 2 hours we seen a boats signal a flare there was probably 20 boats all within 1 kilometer of eachother!!! it probably took us a min or so to notice and started talking about it and made up our minds in a flash to head over, when we got to the boat the guy said he has lost all his electrics and asked to use our radio which was no probs we let the coast guard know and they said they would be on the way.... so we waited the whole time with the bloke which was no problem at all we would help any1 and expect the same.what im trying to say is from what we seen not 1 person even looked like moving to go and have a look at this person in distress i know one or 2 of u reading this was probably out that way and seen it pls in futre people show a little bit more care for others and think twice if thwe shoe was on the other foot!!! if sum1 is in trouble just go that little bit out of your way to make sure people are safe on the water later guys

sometimes i think this topic is hilarious. just because no-ones on your fav spot when your out there doesnt mean that its not known, there may be 500-3,000 ppl with those co-ords.there is no personal spot even if you made it. the ocean is free for all.howevertaking a gps onto someones boat when going out with them is a no-no unless permission is givenand totally agreed with not taking a gps out as it ruins your chance of getting out with anyone once the word spreadsjust my opinionbrent

After pinging your best 'cos I know you catch tons of snapper there isn't going to guarantee me a snapper... how many people go to a known spot where other's pull fish from like the Stanvac Barges and come away without even a bite... you still need to know all of the other variables and there are plenty of those. but in the meantime other boats will then get the spot because the person who originally pinged you has no respect. I lost a good local kgw spot late last year as I passed on the plots to a good mate who is trustworthy (and I still trust)and used his handheld on someone elses boat but unfortunately because they bagged out his mate lost all respect and pinged the spot on his boat gps.. I went there 2 days later hoping to bag out and his mate was already there so I took off as I never fish 2 boats on a spot.. later I went past and about 6 other boats were also anchored there. That spot went from virgin to trashed in a spate of a week

The powers that be should change the "save the murray' levy to a 'fish the murray' levy, theres very little decent freshwater fishing oportunities in the rest of the state so people shouldn't be expected to pay for nothing, I think the murray has been saved in the short term (not by the levy mind you). The moneys paid only by murray river fisherman could/should be put back 100% into stocking cod and improving facilities along the river.cheers

Goldy I mean no disrespect but i think your comments are a little unfair in regard to boaters. In my case I use the costs involved in boating to highlight the fact that it is already an expensive pastime which means we have less to spend elsewhere. If an RFL were to be introduced this would mean I would have less.Less to spend on travel to areas outside of omy local area.Less to spend on bait or updating my tackleLess to spend in the local chandellry storeLess to spend on the maintenance of my craftLess to spend on tournament fishingHeck even less to spend on takeaway or going out in general. So in my mind the hurt is not just felt by the individual it has the potental to go much further.I could go on & argue how unfairly we as a boating public are already taxed / treated by this government by way of higher registration costs based on the size of your vessel. A boating levy paid by all where money is spent in areas that may have no bearing to your vessel. Then there are the facilities that money is spent on yet enjoyed by other water craft who do not have to share the finacial burden of said tax.I'm not saying I should be exempt from an RFL because I have a boat. I'm saying that an RLF is an added burden that I personally can see no benefit from here in SA, much less so in fact for those who fish the brinie stuff!

I don't think the Farmers would be trusting the current Government at the moment, trying to tax the water that they use out of their own dams and not upping the 60% to 100 or 120% water rights with all that water passing their door step.
