  1. Too big for porties I reckon mate. Christies is no better if there is a swell up.Moana can get nice litle gutter down by the fence for launching. Used to launch a mates jets ski down there a fair bit.
  2. Seriously would not want to take these out and scratch them !! Nice John, good to see your fly pulled the expected target as well
  3. Used it many times to launch and retreive the surf clubs rubber ducks and surf boats down there. High tide only unless extremely small/shallow boat. The reef is a major issue there and honestly..most times we would pull the motor up and glide in instead of scrubbing out and destroy the reef and prop guard.Better off launching at Moana/aldinga/sullies....Christies is still accessable as well from memory and a much better ramp to (no reef !)
  4. Sweet !! Looks a million bucks mate, probably just short of what you paid for it to !!So what's going to christen it ??
  5. bet you've been playing with it all night... the reel that is:P

  10. Have to say... feels awesome !!
  11. FN thanks for puting me onto the gear... the reels sensational but can't work out how to switch it over yet. That's circlip has me stumped !! I'm sure the right tools help.Photo coming, must admit.. bit darker than I thought.
  12. The photo's don't do the reel justice.. sooooo light !!! No particular species but geez I can't to get down to Browns to hook into some salmon on it. I really don't think the drag will get tested on freshwater species unless I fluke a cod but doubt I will target them with the fly gear. What i would like is to get it wet up the coorong on the salmon just to get the feel for it. Time isn't onmy side though with a few busy weekends. Might have to be happy with a few lb of rainbow trout in the mean time though Softy.. your trout should do mate !!!
  13. Had a few things arrive in the last week I had been hanging for.Waterproof Fly box, 80 various wet flies, few others I got from tassie the other week and last but not least my new reel the Nautilus Feather Weight Plus 7 weight. Also got some Rio camolux line free with purchase on the reel...now to put it all to good use !!!
  14. Mate that's awesome !!My boys 2 and I want to get him out in the boat this summer to get his first fish
  15. Spot on Mars... you won't have one spot or half a dozen spots... you'll have 20+ let alone the other that members tell you about once you get in good with a few of them.Ask TonyB how many 1kg reddies he's caught this year.... dozens probably !! (bastard)....
  16. Sorry to here mate, if I can help ya out in anyway let me know. Even if it's just some placcies for the dams.. least I can do for a mate.
  17. Nice work Jewie ! You have given me an idea that's for sure... got the same sort of side burner and it's never been lit...Geez those fillets look nice too.Might have to get the snapper wings out for a chew.
  18. drop them into boiling salt water and once back to the boil count to 7 minutes as a rule of thumb. Never gone wrong.... sure other will have other opinions though.Looking forward to steaming some this season for a first though !
  19. The only complaints would eb that there's only enough for me not the neighbours as well !!
  20. UHF you just remeinded the best places to catch redfin.... SAFWAA dams scattered all over the state for the dismal price of $60 per year... thanks for reminding me :PAnd you're right about that halco mate, they were jumping all over it !!
  21. Probably somewhere in their home country I would suggest...What areas are you fishing ? heaps of water ways all round the state hold them, just a matter of getting out for a walk and investigating likely dams/creeks/rivers. Take some light line and some soft plastics ( they hit just about anything ) and check out a few spots.Word of warning... be cognisant of if you can legally fish an area. just because there's no signs up doesn't give you the right of path.

    snook

Great on the barbie fresh or in the pan done in bread crumbs. Take your fillet off, grab the skin and simply pull. No need to scale or use theknife to skin. Won't last more than a couple of weeks frozen and yeah.. great bait for the toothies !!
  23. Nearly mate !!! Hard to keep up with our stocking though !!!hahhaa....
